97 Cadillac Seville, cluncking in front end, rack and pinion, can feel the noise coming from inside the rack and pinion. Steering seems to lock up while driving straight or in a turn.
The contact owns a 1997 Cadillac Seville. While driving approximately 65 mph, the contact experienced difficulty turning the steering wheel. The vehicle failed to respond. There were no warning lights illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle has not been taken to an authorized dealer for repair. The contact was concerned of the safety risk involved. The failure mileage was 130,000 and current mileage was 130,020.
1997 Seville sts while starting turn from a stop the traction control applies the brakes skids the tires, takes away the ability to steer and decelerates the engine, this also occurs when doing the posted speed limit (70) mph. The book requires drivers to pull over and turn car off then restart, doing this on the freeway permits this to occur at high way speeds. Went to dealer, they say to replace the steering sensor, called manufacturer they say too bad consumer.
Driving 60mph w/cruise control on; brakes making noises on & off; smelled something burning. Got out vehicle & noticed brakes & hub cap on driver's side hot; steering vibrates all the time; cruise control went out. Took to dealer for repairs.
