January 2023.. Structural Crack in the air bag dash location/passenger side...Looking at it more closely the crack continues in a perfect oval pattern. As of yet the car component in question has not been inspect by a dealer or others. When sitting back in the front passenger seat i can see that the dash is humped up in just that area..the oval area. This oval area is just above the word air bag on the face of the dash. My concern is that if this is the airbag it could deploy and injury myself and others and cause a serious accident. the car has approximately 74,000 miles on
It doesn-€™t matter if someone is in the passenger seat or not, the airbag light keeps coming on on my dashboard saying that the passenger airbag has been disabled. The light will keep turning on and off even when someone is not in the passenger seat.
When driving I keep getting a airbag warning notification on for the passenger side saying there's an issue. And now my driver's seat is stuck all the way forward and won't recline. I can't even drive the vehicle now because the seat won't move back to get behind the wheel. I don't know what to do!
The airbag alert light keeps coming on and off. This happens stationary, moving, when someone is the seat or not, on bumpy roads, and all speeds. I took it to my mechanic, who said it's the passenger airbag sensor in the passenger seat that needs replacing. He suggested I go to the dealership to replace it. I took my car to the dealership. They want to charge me $800 to fix it. I have been researching meanwhile and this looks like a very common problem with the 2010 Camaro. I do not understand why I would be asked to pay that much to fix something that isn't my fault and in fact appears to be a manufacturing error. On top of that, the dealership wants to charge me $150 to diagnose what I told them was wrong with the car when I brought it in!!!!

The vehicle was not taken to be inspected nor repaired. Neither a dealer nor the manufacturer were made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 33,000.

A 'service airbag' notification has been turning on sporadically while driving my 2010 Camaro (regardless of speed and/or if a passenger is in the car). When I told my local dealership's service department while I was there getting an oil change, the employee told me it would cost $120 for the vehicle diagnostic and that if I get into a car accident my airbag wouldn't deploy. I think it's unfair and irresponsible of them to charge for the diagnostic, from what I've read online, many other individuals have had this problem with the 2010 Camaro and GM knows about the defect and that the passenger airbag will not deploy. The fact that this is still not a recall is criminally neglectful and I believe there is currently a class action suit against the company.
Air bag service option keep coming up on my screen while on the expressway and city streets I turned off onto after being frightened by the message. Barely had the car 5 months and it started. It would chime them disappear. This is very scary and makes me view my car as a ticking death trap. I dont feel I need to pay for this out of pocket for this. As it deals with the safety of the car from a company I trust.

The contact also stated that the ignition would fail to start up after multiple attempts. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed him that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 34,000.

The mechanic located the failure code as the air bags supplemental restrain system failed and caused the passenger's side internal detection system to fail. The manufacturer was contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 16,000.
Passenger airbag illuminated when a someone sat in the passenger seat and now stays illuminated whether sitting in the seat or not. Looked into the problem and realized GM has been made aware of the defect that is causing many of consumers the same problem. I have decided to not get it fixed due to the cost of repairing and the fact that GM should be the ones fixing their saftey defects.
The passenger seat airbag sensor has malfunctioned and needs replaced at a cost of $1500. GM knows about the defect and that the passenger airbag will not deploy. There is currently a class action suit against the company.

The vehicle was not repaired due to the repair fees. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,129.
Service airbag light on recently purchased vehicle. See class action suit filed on this and many complaints, but no investigations or reacalls. What are my options?
Air bag warning light remains lit. First symptoms were when an occupant in the passenger seat sat down, air bag warning light came on. Now it just remains lit even without occupant.
The warning light and message to "service airbag" illuminates when starting vehicle. The light remains on whether someone is seated in the passenger side or not. Replacing the battery did not solve the problem. I'm not sure if the system is operating correctly or not.
I recently noticed a hairline crack on my dashboard and believed it was due to normal wear and tear. Requested a company to repair crack, but representative unable to repair crack due to location being above the airbag. Upon future investigation I have discovered that other Camaro owners have same hairline crack in the exact location on their dashboards. For the crack to occur in the same location on different vehicles leads me to believe there is a defect in the dashboard. The crack is getting progressively worse and I fear that the airbag will deploy unexpectedly due to the airbag compartment becoming compromised.
The image you see is an example of an airbag that a lady suffered from your recent recalled airbag tamara. I have similar evidence in the same exact and length and width cut as she does... I was a passenger in this car that become out of control, also an ignition recall was proven to hurt people in the 2010 Camaro. I wasn't the drive so all I know is driver lost control an ran onto the side of the road into the grass, flush ground, inbetwen a fence and the road had 100-200 ft to brake and turn the car back on the road avoiding a colvert. But instead major malfunction.frontal airbags went off at the wrong time, also evidence shows airbag cut my throat, also side and sunroof airbags did not deploy! vehicle went airborn, all ends of vehicle was impacted. Note. Passenger! not owner!
