The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact discovered that the front driver side curtain air bag cover panel was loose and unsecured. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the front driver-??s side curtain air bag had partially deployed and needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the vehicle had not been involved in a crash to cause the partial deployment of the air bag. Additionally, the front passenger-??s seat occupant detection sensor had failed causing the air bag warning light to remain illuminated. In addition, the front driver-??s seat rails had malfunctioned, and the seat continued to move while driving the vehicle. The cause of the failure was not yet determined, and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was unknown.
My vehicle was in motion going 40 mph on the I-17 freeway and was rear ended by a vehicle going approximately 65 mph upon impact all side curtain airbags and driver seat airbags were deployed after driver and front passengers were thrown forward during the accident upon our bodies being thrown back against the seats the seats both fell into recline positions on top of our two children in the center row bucket seats. Our seats failed to restrain the impact of our bodies and keep us upright protecting us from injury and neck and back whiplash.
Seat-belts: When buckle it, the hard part injures the passenger. Driver seat: Pellets came out of the rail of the seat. Driver seat headrest: When driving, if a person holds the headrest and push it, it moves, making the driver move the head. The headrest do not have a lock. All these issues happen when driving in the street, highway. This is unsafe condition for the driver as well for the passengers. I hope this issues are resolved before an accident occur.
My side canopy air bags deployed, locked up my seat belts and the air bag in the driver seat also deployed. As well with us running in to anything at all. We going down the street. We had just made a right hand turn
