2015 LS Model with factory tow pkg uses donut as spare. Why would Chevy put a donut as a spare for a vehicle that is used to tow??? I would never use that donut to tow my pop up camping trailer.
Left rear tire picked up nail/screw and the tire blew before I could get it repaired, as tires shops are not open on Sundays in the Metro phoenix area. I ended up buying 4 new tires at Discount Tire (great place btw) but still have one "good" original tire which I want to use as a spare. Full size P245/70R17 tire won't fit on the donut wheel. The full size wheel is still OEM, no aftermarket, has 6 lugnut with unusual spacing between the holes. I'm not even sure a full size wheel/tire will fit in the space where the dinky donut spare goes. Also, stock tires have no warranty ( per dealer) for road hazard and not covered under extended warranty. If I can't find a used wheel at a junk yard, will have to buy new through dealer ($$$$). If wheel can't fit beneath Traverse in the spare well, I have to lug around a spare inside the 8 passenger SUV, which means I lose seating and storage space. BOO on Chevy!
