Continued issues, even after new transmission installed. Big problem with shifter, and knowing that the transmission is in park... or Not! Recently pulled into parking area in front of my office, put my Chrysler 300 in Park, and as my passengers started to get out, the car started rolling backwards. Luckily, I was still in the car, and hit the brakes. Looking down, the Transmission now indicated it was in REVERSE !!!

  • Automatic transmission
  • 44,000 miles

This is the second or third time we have dropped off our 2013 300 to the Dealer for rough shifting. It has become more frequent and feels worse. It's as if there was really bad U-joint, with a lot of slack. Happens mostly when slowing, then speeding back up.. there is hesitation, then a hard jolt when it finally goes into gear. Now, when I ease off the acceleration at highway speeds, I can feel a jolt as the transmission tries to decide "What Do I Do" ??? The vehicle is currently at the Cary AutoPark Chrysler Dealer. The service advisor claimed that he knew nothing of the Chrysler recall !

Update from Jun 9, 2016: My 2013 Chrysler 300 has been at the Dealer now for almost a full month! They tried replacing the valve body on the transmission, which made the shifting problem worse. They then called to tell me that Chrysler Corp., advised replacing the entire transmission. We have now been in limbo for a month, because there are 0 transmissions in inventory... in the USA. I have heard from other sources that Chrysler has recalled all transmissions in inventory due to defects. Right now, we have NO CAR.

Update from Jun 24, 2016: Chrysler 300 was at Cary AutoPark Jeep Chrysler from 5/16/2016 to 6/21/2016, and finally had a New Transmission installed. The Transmission was "Force Shipped" from a Dealer in California, to Cary,NC. The transmission now shifts smoother, but I still have a "clunk" when letting off the gas at times (similar to having a bad u-joint in a rear-wheel drive car.

300 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 16,500 miles

This was the first complaint to the Chrysler Dealer about the 8-speed automatic transmission shifting hard between gears on occasion. This would happen mostly when slowing for traffic or a traffic light, then when re-accelerating, it would at first hesitate, then jolt into a lower-gear. Upon inspection, the dealer told me that it was "within factory specs".

300 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 8,000 miles

The car used to drive great and now for some reason the transmission can't shift right. It jerks when downshifting into 1st and it either shifts too early or too late when up shifting
