The contact owns a 1999 Chrysler Concorde lxi. While driving approximately 70 mph on normal road conditions there was pressure applied to the accelerator pedal and unexpectedly, the speed rate reduced to 20 mph. The contact was able to drive on the emergency lane with caution and suddenly, the speed rate increased to 70 mph. The contact was able to continue driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing; however, the technician was unable to duplicate the failure. The identical failures occurred on four separate occasions. An independent mechanic on two separate occasions reset the crank shaft sensor code. The failure continued to occur after the repair was made in addition, the vehicle stalled intermittently. The contact had concerns of the safety risk involved. The failure and current mileages were 121,000.

The contact owns a 1999 Chrysler Concorde. The contact stated that the ABS light illuminated and she heard a noise in the engine compartment. The mechanic stated that the pump motor circuit for the ABS failed and caused the light to illuminate. The approximate cost to repair the vehicle was between $1,500 to $2,000. The front rotors were replaced in April of 2006 and in September of 2007. In January of 2007, the front driver side bearing was replaced. The mechanic stated that the failure was due to poor design and cheap parts. The air conditioner also began to leak. The mechanic stated that there was a hole in the suction line because of the design, and it rusted and rubbed through another part of the vehicle. The air conditioning suction line was replaced in September of 2007. The leak could have potentially caused a fire. The mechanic stated that the power steering kit needed to be replaced. The vehicle could easily rust into the frame and condensation could collect. The vehicle is currently hesitating and surging. The current mileage was 78,100 and failure mileage was 78,000. Updated 03-04-08 the leak of the power steering hose could cause a fire. Updated

Entering on-ramp to interstate. Car starts clunking, vibrating, clicking. Car dies on the on ramp on an interstate. Car died at 5:30 pm, it's dark out and almost hit by numerous cars speeding up to merge onto the interstate. 2 small children in the backseat. Cannot remove until help arrives because it is 5 degrees above zero outside. Towed car to local repair shop. Timing chain tensioner needed replacement. Clean sludge from oil pan. Found oil sludge and metal shavings in the oil pan and the oil screen. $834 in repairs and now engine has very loud knock. Repair shop tells me the engine is basically shot and nothing can be done to fix or salvage.

While driving home from work my 1999 Concorde with 90,000 miles on it started knocking very loudly. I had to shut the vehicle down because it sounded like the motor was tearing itself apart. Had the vehicle looked at by a mechanice who said the motor needed to be rebuilt or replaced at a cost of about 3000-4000 dollars. The vehicle still sits in my driveway today making payments on it. This happened in 2004 and its now 2007. Great way to back your product chyrsler by telling me I didnt maintain proper maintanance. Want to see the reciepts.

- the contact owns a 1999 Chrysler concord. The contact stated that the vehicle had 44548 miles when purchased on 05/01/2002. The vehicle was 3 years old at that time. The contact stated that 2 motors seized. The contacthad driven the vehicle approximately 16,000 miles when the first motor failed at 60,000 miles with no warning. The contact was driving 55 - 60 mph when the motor began clicking very loudly. The contact stated that the weather was very nice. The second time this happened the vehicle was being driven between 25 - 35 mph and the motor again began clicking, and seized. The contact turned the car off, and had it towed to the regular mechanic. The mechanic inspected the vehicle and determinedthat the motor had seized. The contact stated that the vehicle had just had two oil changes because sludge was found in the oil. A synthetic oil was put in the vehicle to try and combat the sludge. The contact stated that she has been trying to get another motor without any success, and the vehicle was sitting in storage with the mechanic. The current mileage was 90000.

My car shut off while at a stop light. It started back up, but making this awful rattling noise. I had a auto shop tell me a few things and I paid to get a few repairs that cost me closed to $1,000. Then before I could get a repair done to the timing chain of my '99' Concorde, it shut down on me as I was leaving work. I had to get it towed from the middle of traffic, during rush hour and it is now in my garage waiting to be repossessed.

While driving down I-75, my 1999 Concorde began making noise that sounded similar to an object touching a moving fan. When I got to first exit, vehicle died, and at that point oil light flickered. I restarted and before I could get across 1 lane of traffic to the side of the road I thought that from the sound my whole engine would fall out of my vehicle. Car died again, as I managed to reach the side of the road. Had it towed to dealer and was told that the engine had "thrown a rod", and needed to be replaced. I asked what would cause it and was told "everyday wear and tear", it has only 70,000 miles on it. It will cost $5,000 to replace, which I don't have!!! I have spoken to very reliable auto parts dealer about a replacement engine. He told me that the engine has a reputation for being the worst you could have, and that he would not put another 2.7 liter engine back in the car. (didn't make me feel any better!!) now I find this website and I read 64 complaints with the same issue. Is there a place or phone number to someone who can help with this problem. As it stands now, I have a car that I can't drive, but still have to pay $7,000 on, and no prospects of being able to afford alternate transportation.
