This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
My vehicle was first hit on the driver side by a hit and run driver. Then it went into ongoing traffic to hit another car head on and finally went on the side walk hitting a tree.
May 21, 2013 at about 8 am I was on my way to work driving on the freeway when the passenger airbag deployed for no reason, it startled & shaken me to the point that it almost cause me to get into an accident, I thought that I had a tire blow out or gunshot to my windshield because I seen a flash, I pulled over and exit to the next off ramp to calm myself for about 25 min then drove my car to the car dealer service area hoping that the driver side airbag wouldn't deploy on my face as I drove. I am very concerned and hope to have some one look into this very dangerous faulty airbag issue that I've encountered and for the damage to my vehicle. Please contact me regarding this complaint. Thank you
I did not have a accident. But I have had this car for only 15 months and I've had to take this car in for the same defect several times and many times over and over again especially the last 3 months. I've had it with this car and I can't deal with this any more. And Toyota of escondido where we bought the car can't seem to get it right or give us another car.
The contact owns a 2004 Chrysler Concorde. When the vehicle is started, the air bag light illuminates and remains lit on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to a mechanic and it was discovered that the side air bag malfunctioned and needed to be replaced. The air bags would not deploy in the event of a crash. The current mileage was 69,000 and failure mileage was 68,000.
