CarComplaints.com Notes: The Chrysler Crossfire has a nasty habit of having the back window fall out. While there are reports of this happening to every model year (2004-08), the 2005 has it worst. Naturally this problem tends to happen beyond the standard 3 year / 36,000 mile warranty leaving owners to pick up the tab along with the shattered pieces of glass.

Car was stationary and key was inserted into ignition but could not turn the ignition in attempting to start the car. It does not move (key) to initiate the function to start the car. Also, no motion of the key movement was available provide any steps of the ignition. The movement of the ignition tumblers become froze in a jammed position disabling the key from turning. It should be noted this is not a new comment about this year 2005 Chrysler Crossfire ignition (no turn) in starting the vehicle. Safety concerns, prevention of starting a car create an emergency's for movement other than driving the car.

The ignition has locked up and will not turn, also the headlight coverings have turned very cloudy limiting sight distance when driving at night, in the rain, at dusk, and dawn, and during fog.

Crossfire

  • 23,300 miles
I own a 2005 Crossfire with 23300 miles. My ignition key began to "stick" when starting the car. It stuck about 2 weeks ago but I was able to start the care after 15 minutes of trying. Yesterday the ignition stuck and I was not able to start the car. I had the car towed to a dealer in san jose ca. The service writer told me he had another Crossfire in for service for the exact same problem.
