I bought this 2007 PT Crusier LTD wagon about 1 year ago from a car lot in Cedar Rapids Iowa (319 Auto) and I knew of a couple things that were wrong with car and would be fixing them. I needed to put on rear shocks and new tires and did and saw where valve cover gasket was leaking and went to replace it and turned out head gasket needed to be replaced. I also replaced all wiper blades and battery that were bad. I check plugs and they looked to have never been changed so I replaced them and plug wires.

When I went to change oil the oil plug was so tight I hand to bang off and saw there rubber seal was missing on drain plug and could not believe it did not leak. Then oil filter was on super tight and had to run a screw driver thru filter to pry it off. The inside and body of car was very good.

I decided to sell this car this month (August) and a women in La Claire IL bought it which is about 100 miles from where I live and I agreed to deliver car and when I dropped car off I noticed cooling fan kept running. She called the next day and said car would not start battery was dead, I asked my mechanic what it might be and he told me it sounds like the coolant fan relay switch is bad. The cars cooling fan will run with or with out car running and drain the battery. I had women who bought car take to a local shop and sure enough that was it.

It seems this year of PT Cruiser you cannot replace the switch's only you have to replace the cooling fan assembly and when that's all said and done cost was $1,100.00! So I figure owning this car for about one year cost me around $4900.00

This is my first Chrysler and my very LAST!!!!!! I did really like the looks of the car but its a big pile of junk.
