CarComplaints.com Notes: Engine cradle rot is a serious problem in the 2004-05 Chrysler Pacifica. Chrysler admits they didn't apply enough coating to the vehicle's sub-frame during assembly, but only offered to cover a very small portion of the vehicles they messed up.

So what happens when your engine cradle rots? Well, the engine could fall out for starters. It could also cause problems with the suspension and other components but did I mention THE ENGINE CAN FALL OUT? The worst part is you might not know because there's no way to see the problem without getting under the car.

If you have a 2004-05 Pacifica, make sure to have your mechanic inspect your sub-frame for rust and corrosion.

TODAY, 9-2-23, is 2nd day of steering problem. I’M 72 YO WOMAN, with cancer/no family. Today I went to back out of garage and steering wouldn’t move without great difficulty. I CANT DRIVE IT NOW.

NOW ON 9/1/23, I went to my oncologist (cancer Dr) and had trouble on return home with cornering steering when. TODAY, 9/2/23, I backed out of garage, BUT STEERING WHEEL WOULDNT TURN UNLESS WITH EXTREME DIFFICULTY. I’M A 72YO WOMAN. My neighbor a NATIONAL GUARD jet mechanic checked the power steering fluid which was full, no leaks of anything anywhere. He checked serpentine, fine. Could not find obvious issues. Said car mechanic needs to check power steering. I’m 72, with cancer and no money or family.

Chrysler should have sent out recall for cradle problem years ago. Now steering is gone.

I AM IN DIRE STRAITS. I NEED MY CAR. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME? Thank you…..

Pacifica Limited 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission

i am being told that this is going cost me more than 500 to replace and that is just the part. I finally got this car paid off after three full years of payment and it seems that anything that could go wrong with it is going wrong now, I have the rack and pinion problem, electrical problems, navigation hasnt worked since i have had the vehicle and the paint on it is peeling like it is allergic to the sun. I need to know of a solution besides me going broke behind this car.
