Pacifica 4.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 154,000 miles

2007 Pacifica shut off while being driven by 18 year old at 55MPH...Luckily we were able to get the vehicle off the roadway and pushed it to a parking lot. Was told by Ordus Chrysler that the issue was most likely the keys became un-programmed.

After having the Pacifica for several days and consulting with Chrysler we were told it was a faulty connector to the PCM.. Then when that didn't fix the Pacifica we were told it was the TIPM that was bad....After almost 1400.00 in repairs the Pacifica started again....

Only to find out the liftgate no longer works...IT DID BEFORE THEY REPAIRED THE VEHICLE.

Back to the dealer we went to be told the BCM needed replaced at a cost of about 700.00...Oh, and it only took 4 days to figure out the problem this time...

The Service Manager stated"I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY YOUR UPSET WE FIXED THE ISSUE YOU BROUGHT IT IN FOR, IT DOES START NOW."

This has turned into one of the most expensive and frustrating vehicles I have ever owned.

Pacifica Limited 6.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 95,000 miles

This problem, which came full circle in February 2016, actually presented in stages for some time prior to the actual failure all occurring, primarily when it rained. I would go to make a turn and the vehicle would act as if it was going to cut off and steering wheel would be hard to navigate. On other occasions the abs light, traction light, and stability light would come on intermittently. When it was all said and don't the abs motor would not shut off and was told the TIPM was bad and to make matters worse it was on a nationwide back order. I was told by a Chrysler dealership to pay up front for this $850.00 part as if money grows on trees but with no arrival date to appease me, so essentially my money would be held in limbo for this phantom part but in the meantime I was assured I could drive around safety with it disconnected. I was able to go to another dealership who ordered the part and replaced the TIPM and ABS motor.

Pacifica Limited 6.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100,000 miles

Once again my car is presenting with similar problems from February 2016. I am now more than 60 miles away from home, again on a rainy day, while driving with my children in the car once again the abs, traction, and stability lights came on. Added to the mix now is that the radio, my navigation system (which I was using), and the wipers shuts off; one after the other. Along with that the steering wheel getting heavy to maneuver but after pulling over safely and waiting a few minutes and everything came back on, which I kindly turned off for fear of further problems. Once making it safely back to my brothers house I called AAA to tow me the 60 miles back home in the rain. When the tow driver arrived he informed me my inside light stayed on for about 30mins (no key in ignition) so I decided to disconnect the battery terminal so it would not drain.

On Monday 10/10/16 I attempted to drive the vehicle 4 miles to dealership all conditions still the same, radio still off and when I pulled over because I got nervous I wasn't able to get the vehicle to shift out of park, so I waited for 5 minutes and I was finally able to put it in gear praying the entire way. Now its a waiting game for them to find out what the problem is....

Pacifica Touring 4.0

  • Automatic transmission
  • 136,000 miles

WE WERE DRIVING. IT WAS SPRINKLING RAIN. I ASKED MY HUSBAND TO CLEAN THE WINDSHIELD. AS SOON AS HE PULLED THE WIPER STEM, THE HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT. THE CAR RESTARTED, BUT THE HEADLIGHTS WOULDN'T COME BACK ON. WE PULLED OVER AGAIN AND OPENED THE HOOD. THE CAR WOULD RESTART, BUT NOW THE DASH CLUSTER WAS OUT ALONG WITH THE HEADLIGHTS. WE TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AND WEIRDLY, THE HEADLIGHTS CAME ON. THEY WERE FLASHING ON AND OFF, OVER AND OVER. AFTER REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO START THE CAR, WITHIN THE NEXT TEN MINUTES THE CAR WOULD START BUT WOULDN'T SHIFT OUT OF PARK. FROM THERE THE ARMREST CONTROLS STOPPED FUNCTIONING, AND EVENTUALLY THE CAR JUST CHATTERED WHEN THE KEY WAS TURNED. THEN IT WOULDN'T EVEN DO THAT. IT COMPLETELY DIED. FOUR WEEKS AND $1600 LATER, WE HAVE A NEW TIPM L. THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WAS FRIED. BEFORE THIS OCCURRENCE, WE HAD PROBLEMS WITH ALL LIGHTS IN THE DASH AND HEADLIGHTS DIMMING AND FLASHING, THE GEARSHIFT NOT SHIFTING OUT OF PARK, THE CAR NOT STARTING, BUT AFTER A FEW ATTEMPTS WOULD START RIGHT UP.

Update from Sep 21, 2015: i HAVE SEEN OVER 250 COMPLAINTS ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE CONCERNING THIS SAME ISSUE. THEY HAVE ISSUED A RECALL FOR 2010 - 2014 AND ALSO 2008 CHRYSLER CARS FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM. WHAT DOES IT TAKE FOR THEM TO ISSUE A RECALL?
