This complaint relates to a 1998 Chrysler seibring convertible. The vehicle has two horns. During warranty, one horn failed and the manufacturer replaced it. The dealer said they fail "a lot". after warranty the other horn failed. I paid to replace it. The dealer indicated they failed frequently. At 9X, xxx miles the fuse in the horn/power outlet blew. Dealer diagnosed it as a failure of the horn circuit in the steering column requiring replacement of the air-bag assembly -- cost with installation in excess of $800. Vehicle has been without horn awaiting parts for more than a week. The horn is a critical piece of safety equipment and must be simple and cheap to repair when broken. By linking the horn circuit through the airbag, Chrysler has made it neither cheap nor easy. Many people will have to operate their vehicle without a horn since they won't have the $800+ to make what should be a few dollar repair. Shame on Chrysler for making the horn circuit this way. Shame on you for tolerating horn failures that cost $800 to repair during the prime and useful life of the vehicle.

Coolant used in the vehicle did not contain enough corrosion inhibitors, as a result the engine block and cylinder head core plugs corroded which caused the coolant to leak. The engine was removed and all core plugs replaced. The mfr. Had a recall for this but the VIN# was not eligible for the recall.

The paint is disappearing on the spoiler, trunk, top, quarer-panel and now the hood of my black 1998 Sebring. Mirrors are dulling. Dealership offered to pay $600 after we have the car painted and take it back to them. This will not cover the expense of a quality paint job (that we paid for when we bought the car). Estimate to fix visible damage (excepy hood) was $2404, but unless the car is resurfaced the paint will fail again.

Don\\\\\\'t know exact dates but had window trim repaired for leaking on left and right side windows and interior covers under door handles replaced for peeling away under orig. Warranty. Called dealership w/I 10 mos. Because same problems came back and was told that I would be responsible for all costs (including rental car) and then I could submit my claim to see if I would even be reimbursed. Car now has approx. 65,000 miles and took it to be diagnosed since I purchased a 75,000/7 yr. Extended warranty. Paid $75 for diagnoses and approx. $30 for rental car and am still told \\\\\\tough luck\\\\\\ on my repairs and that I am responsible even though they have been repaired previously. Oh, and come to find out if I had been informed correctly the first time that my repairs would have been covered because they are warrantied for twelve months!! of course I relied on an answer from an employee at Chrysler/Jeep in southfield, Michigan and since they misinformed me I am sol. I have also gone \\\\\\'round and \\\\\\'round with chysler customer service and they have been very unhelpful.

Cruise control from purchase didn't work, salesman told me I needed to be traveling 55 mph for it work. Turned out, it was broken, cost me $100 to repair. One month after purchase, car dead, turned out it needed a batery. Dealership paid the cost. 2nd month after purchase, check enging light came on, car running sluggish and popping noise, turned out I needed a spark plug. I requested they change them all. They wouldn't. 3 months after purchase check enging light on again, car running very sluggish, popping noise again, filled up with gas, car wouldn't start, had to have it towed it. This is rediculous. I want to file a lemon. Law. I can't afford a $400/mo paymnet and pay for my car to be repaired on a monthly basis. What can I do?

You have a previous recall for this on my car. I tested the vehicle and it was inoperational. I brought it back to a Dodge dealer 4 times before a final repair attempt. At this point they had put it in 1 new part, which is a self adjusting cable. This does not fix the problem though. Their other attempts at fixing my car was to bend a pin back into place that had bent. On the final reapair attempt they again put a whole new assembly in, again in 2 days my car was inoperational. Chrysler said that I was breaking my car and it was all my fault. I wouldn't buy it so I took them to arbitration to try to get my money back for this lemon of a car. At the hearing Chrysler said that they themselves noticed a problem with their cable and started to install a new self adjusting cable per your recall notice stated* in all the new cars coming off of the assembly line as well as in the recalled vehicles. The new car arbitration board where I live determined that this new part was an engineer flaw and was not doing its job and produced a safety hazzard as stated in your recall notice. I am seriously concerned for the safety of other motorists who did not receive such a recall notice in the mail and are unaware of this problem. Chrysler has become aware of it at the hearing, and whether or not they choose to divulge this information I am not sure. I thought that I would divulge it to you so that maybe some further action can be taken. Also I would like to note that not all of the mechanics and service advisors are sure as to how to perform this test correctly. I went into gulf coast Dodge on cleveland ave. In ft. Myers Florida, to have my vehicle fixed, along with several other problems. I was upset and crying, my service advisor assured me that he would make sure that my car was operational. Upon returning to pick up my vehicle they didn't repair my car at all, saying that there was no problem found at this time. No safety defect listed within summary.

The mat on the dirver's side became caught in the steering column base. The mat started to move and caused diffculty with controlling the car while turning a corner. I was able to pull off of the road after completing the turn and pull the mat back out. The binding off of the mat had to be removed by the service dept. At the dealership. I was told there was nothing they could do to cover the steering column to prevent it from happening again.

When driving and turning the floor mat gets caught in the bottom of the steering column because there is no boot surrounding the steering column, which makes it impossible to turn. Also, the steering locks up. Dealer says that it is just the way it's made.
