my seat belt light has stayed on since i bought the car as far as i can remember...the new problem i am having is that the seatbelt will ding for 5 to 10 minutes while i am driving down the road after everyone has their seatbelts fastened..some days i can handle it and others i just want to scream..

i will never buy another chrysler as long as i live...this car has been nothing but nightmares to me since i bought it...is there a recall out there for this particular problem

Bought the car used one week ago, when I was on the test drive, the seat-belt light came on intermittently with the bell dinging. Told the dealer, and I believe their fix was just to turn the bell off because the dinging stopped, and the light went away, until I actually bought the car. The seat belt light came on, and flickers on and off occasionally, no dinging now, cause you can cancel the bell with a fix found in the owners manual. At night, it's still pretty red now, and I refuse to cover it with electrical tape.

Last night (one week after owning the car) the airbag light came and has not gone off, so I'm thinking there is some sort of connection between the drivers seat-belt and the airbag sensors, as when I push the seat belt or wiggle it while driving, the seat belt light goes off. This doesn't mean that the airbag light goes off though.

I've done some looking on line, and it seems that it's something that's commonly complained about on this model, as well as the 2004 model. It may have something to do with the electrical seat-belt pre-tensioner, and it is safety concern, but Chrysler has not offered any fixes or recalls researching using Carfax, the Chrysler recall site, or online.

Definitely a safety issue. If anyone has any suggestions, sure would be helpful.
