I purchased my car used 3 yrs ago. I paid if off this year. The ongoing troublesome issue is that the car stalls out unexpectedly- usually during wet weather. It has happened about 5 times or so. But, it has almost happened many more times...the car sputters and just about stalls out. Again, all during wet weather. I contacted the dealership where I purchased car after the 1st incident. They took the car and said I needed a new battery ; that it was being drained when I had wipers, heat, radio etc all on at once and that was why it stalled. I went with it. Well, it has stalled several times since. All while driving and very scary. The power steering goes out. Another thing that may or may not be related...is that the dash lights flicker on and off; also a safety issue. I will be driving and all of a sudden can't see my speedometer or anything. I think there is definitely an electrical issue. I see that there have been recalls related to the electrical system. I just don't know what to do. I think they should look into this.
While a mechanic was working on my car he noticed that a wiring harness was fused together, and the fan was not working. I got on line and found that in November 2007 there was a recall (G39) and it was performed on my car( I purchased my car new in February 2007). There was no indication my car was running hot, but, it obviously could have caught fire. The wires were arcing. I immediately got an appt with a dealer on 11/18 and this time the following parts were replaced: Jumper ra 08015002, motor rad 08034280 and shroud 07008002 free of charge.the original recall was called G39. The original recall only installed a fan motor overlay harness. The original recall obviously did not correct the original problem. But it took 7 years to happen again.
The instrument panel light that illuminates the speedometer and other gauges works randomly. Airbag warning light illuminates and the warning bell sounds at random times. Engine stalls when stopping and starting in wet weather.
The contact owns 2007 Chrysler Sebring. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled on several occasions and the contact was able to restart the vehicle. The contact indicated that there was an electrical short within the vehicle. The instrument panel lights and gauges shorted out and failed to work on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer. The technician diagnosed that the instrument panel cluster, the front passenger door switch and the passenger side rear door panel needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact continued to experience the vehicle jerking violently and then stalling intermittently. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 114,560.
Gas gauge stopped working. According to dealer mechanic, fuel gage sending unit is not working....fuel pump does work. Dashboard lights no longer work also. Check engine light stays on and cannot be cleared or problem diagnosed.

I had no brake lights and the seat belt indicator light kept dinging as well as the tire low indicator. It was all because of the total intergrated power module. It was on back order for five weeks. It cost $750 for just the part. I feel Chrysler doesn't recall these even after 1000S of complaints because it is to costly. They are making money on the part alone. I will never buy another Chrysler over them not doing the right thing. I could've been rear ended over this. It cost me 995 just to get the tipm put in. I still haven't fixed the seat belt dinging or the low tire dinging yet. Hate to see how much that will cost. Somebody needs to make Chrysler do the right thing and issue a recall. Safety before anything.
The contact owns a 2007 Chrysler Sebring. While driving 45 mph, the vehicle stalled and the entire instrument panel illuminated. The dealer stated that the fuel pump and electrical module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 170,000. I have a 2007 Chrysler Sebring limited and when I take my key out of the ignition and open the drivers door it still indicates on the dash that the key is in the ignition, therefore causing my key fobs to not work as well. I cannot set my alarm on my car because the key fobs are not working and I have to sit in the car for 30-60 seconds waiting for the dash to stop indicating the key is still in the ignition so I can lock the car doors. It is a big hassle and inconvenience.
Traveling at 60 mph the etc light begins to flash and the vehicle will not accelerate, although rpms increase significantly. This happens many times going downhill. Dealer was never able to repair. Resets if car is restarted, but this is not safe traveling at 60mph on the highway in traffic.
Car wont cut off. When turned off and key is removed car continue to run. Turning key too off position and removing the key will not turn off car, and there is no way to stop car from running battery is located under car on wheel well.
Driving South, from Michigan, had driven approx. 600 miles of a 700+ mile trip, vehicle started "chugging" at 70mph on the highway, decelerating, unable accelerate, this was not in an area of differing elevations, it would almost stall then surge, then repeat. Cruise control was not being used at that time due to heavy traffic. Pulled the vehicle off the highway, into a store parking lot, shut it off for a few minutes, restarted and no further problems until today when driving for less than 15 minutes, on the highway at 60mpg, heavy traffic, it began again. Again, it was pulled over shut off and restarted with no further incidents today. You people need to do something to fix this. Someone is going to be fatally injured. I am not the only one experiencing this same issue.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The failure mileage was 74,000. The current mileage was 74,60.
Car has tmps and airbag lights constantly coming on for no reason - they stay on for days or weeks and then shut off. Both chrylser and independent mechanic have never been able to diagnose. Also, engine will lose all power while in operation at both freeway speeds and low residential speeds along with auto-start randomly not working. Chrysler and independent mechanic were not able to diagnose. Tried replacing alternator and still happened. Replaced crank shaft sensor after looking at online forums of similar stores from other Chrysler Sebring owners and still occasionally happens. Airbag light is now back on for no reason... again. I know GM has been having numerous recalls yet mine has never been included in recalls for both my model and other makes/models having these issues. It is incredibly scary driving speeds of 75mph to lose all power. I have to pull brake, put the car in park and shut off/restart. I am constantly fearful of it happening and getting into a crash that could be fatal.

The horn keeps randomly going off both while im driving and when its completely shut off in the middle of the night. Multiple times its gone off while I've been driving its almost caused wrecks. Something needs to be done before an accident does happen.

The dealer replaced the multifunction switch several times however, the failure was not corrected. The contact also stated that the vehicle intermittently stalled without warning. I was driving at about 55 mph, etc light starts blinking erratically. I then lose power and go down to 10-20 mph. Later that weekend, I started my car and the same thing happened, without it driving.
I was going about 55 mph when the electronic throttle control light came on. It was flashing with made it impossible to reach speeds over 40 mph. I was a danger on the highway because I was unable to maintain speed as well as the vehicle hesitating. It took me 1hour and a half to travel 35 miles. The next day started it and the light went out, I have been afraid to drive it. No one seems to have an easy answer.
I was driving the vehicle on the highway. The etc light came on and the car would not accelerate. Coasted to the side of the road, turned car off, then back on and it ran fine. It has done this at least 30 times since. Now my etc light blinks and car will only go 10-20 mph, slows to 5mph going up any grade. Idle is rough and idles between 1500 and 2000. Sometimes when I first start the car it will run okay for about 2-3 minutes then etc light suddenly come on, car decelerates and I have almost been hit several times. Now the brake light comes on and off as does the check engine light. The dealer does not know what is wrong. This seems to be a common problem with this model vehicle. Chrysler needs to do something before someone is seriously injured or killed. I will never buy another Chrysler product because they will not fix this problem, always say they do not know what the problem is.
