AFTER 2 complaints about defective air bag sensors "THAT GOT ME NOWHERE", I guess you can forget about it because I put a piece of tape over the airbag light. they put the junk sensors in ALL the 2005 vans and some 2006 but for some reason NOT ALL WERE RECALLED.. I don't understand why this hasn't been resolved.. I'll be [XXX] if I'm paying 300-400 bucks for something that other people are getting repaired for free.. THANKS FOR NOTHING... Filed complaint about defective airbag sensors last year and heard nothing back.. they are still defective..there is a recall on this issue but my VIN is after the ones that were recalled.. they also have this issue in 2006 town and countries.. they used the same junk parts in all the vans, why weren't all of them recalled for this..there is a number you have issued for this, EA06003. Has anything been determined to allow all vehicles with this problem to be covered under the recall order.. thanks...

Upon blacking out while behind the wheel of the 2005 Chrysler Town and country travelling 40 mph the vehicle collided with 2(two) parked vehicles on the side of the street. When I came to, I discovered that the vehicle was totaled I was unable to remove myself from the vehicle due to being pinned between the dash and the seat which had slid forward with the vehicle impact, no air bags deployed. I sustained minor injuries, with injuries to the face from hitting the steering wheel that required sutures to close in order to heal correctly.

I have a airbag warning light on my dash, I found out that there was a "safety improvement campaign" J-38 and X-26, NHTSA campaign id number: 10V008000, NHTSA action number: RQ09003. I went to my local dealer ( robert loehr ) in cartersville ga and was told that my van was not covered under this "safety improvement campaign" because my VIN was not part of the campaign that I would have to pay out of pocket for the repair. I then called Chrysler and spoke to torie and she said that it was only for vehicle in the "salt belt" but my van's VIN was built in the same time frame as the defective part but because my van VIN was not part of the campaign she would have to have me talk to someone in customer service. I spoke to emily and she stated that because my VIN was not part of the campaign I would have to pay out of pocket. I then spoke to her supervisor mike and told me the same thing but that after I got the repairs made to contact them to see if I was eligible for an reimbursement. It sounds to me that Chrysler knows there is a problem with this sensor but they only want to replace the ones where there it snow and they salt the roads. I live in North Georgia and we have snow and they salt the road plus what about people that travel into area (like me) where it snows and they use salt. Chrysler knows there is a problem with this part and should replace it no matter where live. In the letter Chrysler sent to NHTSA they state " however, Chrysler has informed NHTSA that it will provide the modifications described above at no cost" but yet they want me to pay out of pocket for repairs on their defective part. I feel this should be "under the Safety Act" because Chrysler knows there is a safety problem with my vehicle but refuse to cover it under their "safety improvement campaign".

Be careful of what you read, its not always true. I was on chat with a rep from manufacturer, : Chrysler, this is no recall-see below:2005 Chrysler Town and country recall - #10V008000 recall for air bags : frontal : sensor/control module Chrysler is recalling certain model year 2005-2006 Dodge Caravan, Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country vehicles originally sold in or currently registered in the states of Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Alaska and the District of Columbia. The front crash sensors may crack under certain environmental conditions and allow water to enter into the sensor. This can cause the sensor to become inoperative and illuminate the airbag warning light. These sensors were added to enhance the performance of the airbag system in certain frontal crashes.

Possible takata recall. Driver side air bag malfunction - did not deploy. Unknown at this time as to the specific mechanical part of the airbag system that malfunctioned in this accident. Accident: Driver of (vehicle no.2) was driving a 2005 Chrysler Town and country on highway when he was hit on the left rear side/rear end of the vehicle. The police report states that vehicle no. 1 was changing lanes and hit vehicle no. 2 causing him to lose control of his vehicle. As a result of the impact from vehicle no. 1, vehicle no. 2 crashed into a median wall and was taken by ambulance to the nearest hospital to treat his injuries. See police report. Upon impact, the air bag on the passenger side deployed but the driver side did not causing great injury to the driver of vehicle no. 2. please see photo of the inside of the vehicle where is shows the passenger side air bag was deployed but not the driver's side air bag. Road conditions were dry. The unsafe condition was that the air bag did not deploy upon impact thereby causing the driver of vehicle no. 2 to incur injuries that should have been prevented if the airbag had deployed as it was expected to. It is noted on the police report that the driver side airbag did not deploy.

Airbag showed as failed upon starting my minivan. Took the van to my dealer and was told the sensors were bad and I ordered new sensors. Contacted Chrysler as per NHTSA campaign id number: 10V008000, NHTSA action number: RQ09003. And was told my car wasn't on recall, if it was added they would let me know. I am trying to get may car added to the recall list. Internet chat as follows: [xxx]: hi, my name is [xxx]. how may I help you" [xxx]: hello [xxx]. [xxx] : I had to have airbag sensors replace on 05 T&C and wish reimbursement [xxx] : NHTSA campaign id number: 10V008000 NHTSA action number: RQ09003 component: Air bags:frontal:sensor/control module [xxx] : 5-18-2016 @ [xxx]: diagnosed problem and purchased sensors. [xxx]: that is very frustrating to hear that you had this air bag recall on your vehicle and I will definitely look into the reimbursement process for you. [xxx]: is this the last 8 characters [xxx] of the VIN" [xxx] : previous owner had the car in California and it enter rust zone in 09 or so [xxx]: I do apologize but I do not have a way of adding the recall to your vehicle. This is documented and if there is enough complaints about this on your type of vehicle it is possible that another recall may come out for this. If one does you will be notified by mail at which time you can submit the receipts in for possible reimbursement.
