The contact owns a 2007 Chrysler Town and country. The contact stated that when opening the tailgate, the door flew up and would not secure in place. Instead of remaining open, the door then closed independently. The contact was barely able to avoid being struck by the door. The failure recurred numerous times. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and the current mileages were 62,000.
