For the last five years we have been dealing with a mysterious electrical issue. There are hundreds of complaints online of the same issue. The van will be fine and you get in to start it and when turning the key it will not start. Full charge, full battery. Starter is fine - everything checks out fine. With a jump it will usually start. Sometimes it will start on it's own if you wait a little while. People on boards have stated replacing dozens of things - to then have the same issue a couple days later. We are use to having to jump our vehicle about 1 out of 20 times. We have taken it to multiple mechanics and had multiple things checked and replaced. An example of a board with many others experiencing the same thing can be found here: Https://forums.edmunds.com/discussion/12634/Chrysler/town-and-country/2008-T-C-ignition-switch-problem/P1 in addition - sometimes you will be driving and everything starts going off (wipers, lights, flashers, horn, entire dash lights up, etc - no resolve). This can happen while stationary or driving.

While I'm driving my vehicle home from work it will stall, taking the ability to steer away. Like it just shuts off right in the middle of driving. It usually happens when I am turning or going around a curve.

I am having issues with my 2008 Chrysler Town and country van. I recently had the dealership work on some recalls for this model. At that time, it wasn't showing any problems. Only after the recalls were addressed did the trouble begin. Now, it sporadically will not recognize either key fob. Wait a while and try to crank it and it starts back up. Today, 100 miles from home with 4 small children as passengers, it decided to have a fit at the gas pump and not start. Called road side assistance and waited for them to arrive just in time for van to decide it wanted to crank again. Cranked it up and tried to park it at a friends house close by. Detected what seemed like surges with the fuel pump while trying to get there. Finally got to a stopping point and turned the key off and the van kept running. The wipers went crazy and the horn started blowing all by itself. Is this vehicle possessed by the devil or what? it is not safe to drive and I have no other choice but to tow it back to the dealership. I don't know if anyone else has the same problem but I say this vehicle is unsafe! if there isnt a recall already issued, there certainly needs to be one.

Replacing brake pads, rotors and calipers every 3,000 miles. The brake pads no matter what brand or what they are made of go metal to metal by 3500 miles of driving. We have also replaced master cylinder and both hub bearings. Bought the vehicle used 2 years ago and have had nothing but front end problems.

I was driving with the air conditioning on & suddenly stinky smoke started coming out of the vents. I turned the air off & then back on & it felt like it was blowing heat & the hole dash started feeling extremely hot then I could see fire coming up through the air vents. I pulled over called 911 but they arrived to late & my van was a total loss.

When you shut the vehicle off the keys cannot be removed from the ignition. When this happens you have to start the vehicle up, put it into drive and then put it into park again and shut if off. Sometimes you have to do that a couple of times to be able to remove the keys from the ignition

Takata recall im not sure if it has to do with other service recalls that were performed earlier or what. Every since I had the recalls fixed ive had trouble with my lights flashing, lights on dash flash on and off, cant roll up or down windows, air or heat doesnt work when this happens, its like it just goes crazy. It does it more driving, but does it sitting still as well. Not sure of an exact date when all this started but it just continues to get worse and I had to stop driving it. Not sure if its electrical, computer, or what. I do have video of it...

I have a 2008 Chrysler Town & Country minivan, I will be driving and car will just shut off, I've had spark plugs changed and took it to dealer complaining about it. The kinda acted like I was crazy til I did some research and found a ton of similar complaints. Sometimes it will stall on me 5 or 6 times a day, its very dangerous power steering and everything else just fails. I have to throw the car in neutral and restart as I am avoiding crashing into anything. I have never had this happen in any other car and do not have any recourse to take it to a bunch of mechanics and wasting money when Chrysler knows about this recurring problem. I read they issued a recall on 2010 T&C minivans and have spoken with quite a few people with similar cars dealing with the same issues.

After having the win module replaced due to recall the vehicle intermittently started having an issue. While driving we would loose power all gauges (RPM, mpg, fuel), start flashing all the dash lights, chiming, wipers would engage, and headlights start flashing. (all at the same time) this would randomly happen at all times day or night, in all types of weather (cold, warm, wet, dry) and at various speeds and various driving terrains(both city streets and highways). After driving at night and having headlights flashing off and on while everything lighting up and turning on and off (extremely dangerous) we left at dealership for over a week and also showed them a video that we took of the car going haywire. They however, could not diagnose problem. They said all they knew was that when this happens the vehicle is actually trying to shut itself off and that the computer was resetting itself to avoid the engine turning off. They could not tell us why this was happening or how to fix this.

On 3/7/16, 3 days following the recall repair for the win module we had done on 3/4/16, after starting the car and beginning to drive in my church parking lot, all of the dash lights lit up, the car started chiming as if I didn't have my seatbelt on, the wipers engaged, and the mph and RPM gauges dropped to zero. It continually repeated. I attempted to pull into a parking space, turn off and removed key from ignition. Restarted car, and problem persisted. I repeated this again with the problem still persisting. I pulled into a gas station, turned car off, removed key, and exited vehicle. When I restarted the car the problem had stopped. Two days later on 3/8/16 I started my car for work and as soon as I put the car in reverse the same problem started. Shut the car off, removed key, and restarted... still occurring. Shut the car off, removed key, exited vehicle, restarted, still occurring... I proceeded to drive down the road after exiting my driveway and took a video of this problem repeating continually until a mile down the road, I pulled over into an empty parking lot, shut the car off, removed key, opened and shut the door, and let it sit for 3-5 minutes before restarting, and the problem no longer occurred. My husband called the dealership, greenwood auto in cortland, oh to tell them what was happening, and all they said that it wasn't from them repairing the win module. I find this extremely unsafe, and hard to believe this is just a coincidence as this has never happened before prior to having the recall repair done. I do not have pictures but I do have a video. Chrysler customer service now says I have to pay a Chrysler dealership for a diagnosis of this new problem, how convenient that is.

I have received (3) individual recall notices, going back to around 2014-15 concerning an "important safety recall" concerning "wireless ignition node module defects. I immediately contacted the local dealership I purchased the car from, friendship Chrysler in bristol, tn, and was told I would be placed on a waiting list. Today's date is January 23, 2016, I have since received two additional notices, but have only been told by the dealership that the part is not in and I am on a waiting list. This is a major safety issue involving a van that is typically purchased to "safely" Transport families. I think the delay is insane. Please tell me what the holdup is?
