The tipm was replaced by the dealer after the engine stalled (while stationary) and/or would not shut off. Other electrical problems occurred when both sliding side doors would not open or close for a week and then they would work perfectly, then not work.

Vehicle will not properly start reliably. On many occasions the vehicle will start after a third or fourth attempt. The main concern was that the vehicle stalled as it entered (vehicle was in motion) a busy street. Power steering went out. After coming to a stop the vehicle was restarted by pressing the ignition button. No diagnostics codes were reported when checked at a local repair shop. I asked them to test the tipm and fuel pump relay, and they were able to confirm the issue.

While driving vehicle began to act strangely. Windshield wipers running, headlights turned off, vehicle came out of gear, then stalled. Total loss of power while driving down highway with children in vehicle. No lights, no flashers. Instrument panel began to blink. Only way to recover was to pull battery cable and reset computer. Multiple relays inside tipm module chattering while having issue.

On 12/12/2015 bought a used 2012 Town and country touring L with push-to-start feature, with 40,500 miles. Starting 12/20/2015 I would get in the car, step on brake, push the start button, the engine starts up, and vroom for a couple seconds, then died. If I push the start button again it would try crank all day but would not start. I'd have to foot-off the brake and push start to have it in the off mode, open and close the door to "reset" everything as I just get in the car, and re-try again, and it would start up normally. It was a once a week thing, and now once every couple days. I found a large amount of similar complaints online and all points to the tipm defect. I'm concerned about the issue, in addition to start up, might happen during driving. My car is under extended warranty and I'll have it fixed soon, but I'm concerned about if the replacement would be the same parts that would go bad again in three years. Chryslershould issue a recall with a new-and-improved tipm module.

Car sometimes does not start, takes 4 to 6 times. Engine stalls. New battery could be dead overnight or in a few hours. When this happens doors can not be unlocked, no ligths, no radio, or instrumentation panel. Needs to be jump, then works, but it has been happenning often.

Our 2012 Chrysler Town and country won't start. The dealer said it is a tipm malfunction and fuel pump malfunction. They want to replace them both. They refuse to help us with the repair cost. We are stranded in cancun, Mexico.

I had just drove to the store vehicle ran fine. Came out of store and went to start the car. When trying to start the car I notice the starter trying to turn over but was not starting. I tried starting it 6 time and finally started. I went to auto zone had the check starter system. Battery, alternator and starter passed. Was informed could be bad gas or fuel pump going out. So got gas treatment and after a weekend and half of fuel treatment and change of gas was having same issue. Well this last Saturday I went daughter's game and heard what sounds to be an electric motor front under the van driver rear tire. Didn't mind it over the 5 hour game I checked on the van multiple times and the sounds was still there. End up having to get jump started the battery was dead. Was able to get the van home. I got an electrical schematic on the 3.6L engine performance circuit. And come to find out that the fuel relay is inside the tipm. I am able to pull the mac fuse to stop the pump afraid of what this may cause issues with I am disconnecting battery when I get out of van. I contact dealer and told them of my finds and found out not covered. So at this time it is hard to start and fuel pump runs after key is out of ignition.

A month after buying the van, it started cutting off while driving causing it to be almost impossible to steer. Luckily I was where I could pull over every time.it was taken to the dealership and they couldn't find anything wrong. Another time it did it my husband took it back for a recall part but they told us that part had nothing to do with it cutting off. The most serious time occurred on 4/29/14 during rush hour 5:00 pm)getting on I85 in gastonia, nc merging onto I85 and the van cut off. I couldn't have been going over 25 miles and everything shut down. I was lucky to get it in the emergency lane. I have never been so scared in all my life. I had my daughter/granddaughter screaming/crying. No way any of us would have survived if I had made it to the inner lane.this time a new light came on the dash.told it was a throttle light, many attempts to start the van, it didn't start. I called lake norman (bought there)and was told there's a place in gastonia. I called and explained what happened and asked for a tow truck.the van was towed to gastonia Chrysler. The service tech tried to start it with no luck. He said was better then it starting and resetting everything. He called the next day and everything was reading right on his machines. He told me he was going to drop the gas tank and take the fuel pump out. When he ran it this time the fuel pump had no fuel pressure. He also said there was no gas, in which I had a little over a quarter of a tank on the fuel gauge. He said fuel pump was defective. Replaced it at $777.92. It is Sept and starting it again the jerking like the engine and transmission is gonna fall out. This van engines were recalled for debris in engine thruoct 2011. My engine was built in Nov. Engine needs replaced. Now my stereo turns off and fuses are good.please help, I see other recalls on Chrysler with similar problems.

The contact owns a 2012 Chrysler Town and country. The contact stated that the check fuel cap warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer for inspection and was advised that a rodent had eaten through the fuel line and the fuel tank would need to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the check engine light was illuminated on the instrument panel after the repairs. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where they then stated that the fuel tank would need to be replaced a second time because rodents had once again eaten through the fuel lines. The vehicle was not further repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 2,800.
