I get in the van, put on my seat belt and then can't lean forward, immediately the belt is locked and I can't move. I can't turn to look over my shoulder to change lanes, lean forward or sideways. I take the seat belt on and off a few times and sometimes that helped but sometimes it didn't. I took the van in to a local repair shop, they told me the seat belt shouldn't lock like that. It was under warranty and take it to the dealer.
I went to the dealer explained to them that the seat belt retractor was locking up, and I couldn't move. The service writer was an asshole and offered me a seat belt extender. He put the chief complaint on my service write up as "customer complains the seat belt is too short", if that was the case I wouldn't have bought the damn van. I said the "retractor is sticking." I told him I was this size when I bought the damn van, and the seat belt wasn't an issue until the past week. They kept the van for 3 days, gave it back to me with a seat belt extender and said it was fixed. The retractor doesn't lock up as often but it does sometimes, and since they "fixed" the seat belt, the driver's passenger button for the sliding door no longer works. Don't go to Suburban in Garden City.
