We have had multiple times when we are driving, and our vehicle shuts off and we lose power steering and power brakes. When the van does come to a stop, we are able to restart it and continue on. There is no warning that the van is going to shut off, it just does it. This is our family vehicle. I have found multiple forms online with customers complaining of the same issue with no positive results from the dealerships.

While driving at 70 mph on the highway on 8/13/23, the car electrical system failed. Power steering immediately failed. Brakes unresponsive. Lost control and almost veering into a semi beside us. Coasted and lane changed with no means to signal to others. Once we coasted to a near stop car was put into park without ability to press on break. After 3 min, attempted to start car again and it was responsive again.

The engine died while traveling 80mph and power steering stopped. Engine died at a stop light in traffic. No lights display on dashboard and no codes display. Car runs fine after turning off then restarting. This is dangerous and appears common in town and countries. We could have died at 80mph.

I was driving along in motion, an all of a sudden the car just completely shut down. The steering wheel locked up and the brake got tight. Thank god I was on a slow street so I was able to stop the car and put it in park and the car started right back up again. This happened to me once in October and once again a month later in November. In November I was on a regular street in traffic and the car shut down. I was able to put it in park and start it back up again. This is so scary and a safety problem. Thank god I didn't cause an accident.

Car was running perfectly at 70 mph on the highway and engine cut off without any warning or indication of poor operation, resulting immediate loss of power steering and loss power brakes. This has happened twice in 12 days on Nov 14 and now Nov 26 while driving to whole family to thanksgiving. Mechanic has not been able to duplicate the problem. Very scary. Car has 76K miles. Car will start right back up after 20 min and run perfectly fine. Car has been well maintained with extended warranty.

The car has 25,000 miles on it. Starting out from my house down a hill the power steering and brakes were not working as apparently the engine stopped. I restarted and drove about 15 miles and was on I-26 in tn at 65 mph and the engine RPM dropped to 0, power brakes and steering were inoperable but I managed to get onto the shoulder but was in a dangerous spot with traffic speeding by. Car would start but I was afraid to drive it ass it was not safe if it cut out again on the interstate highway. Had it towed. Still not repaired and mechanic said it showed a code of both bank sensors. E has not found the problem as of yet but I understand Chrysler has had issues with engine stoppage. This is dangerous as my wife would not have been able to control the hard steering and brakes and likely would have wrecked.

While driving at approximately 25 mph, I lost all power to engine. No power steering, no brakes, no ability to a accelerate. I was able to put flashers on and pull off main road. I turned ignition off and was able immediately restart it. Two days prior, van wouldn't start and had to be jump started. Interior lights still worked but no power was getting to ignition.

This has been an off and on again occurence with this car it completely shuts down and I have visited the dealership often and they are turn me away for repairs and or fixing of said vehicle without throwing money at it. This is a safety issue and concern for my family as my kids ride in this car almost everyday. We need a reliable vehicle and we are getting no help from dealerships and this car needs to addressed.

I observed the steering controls were not working for the radio or any other controls associated with the buttons on the steering wheel while driving to work. I could not change the menu for the speedometer and other functions when parked. I also could not use the horn at all which I consider a safety feature. After doing some research I found that this exact same problem was recalled for the Grand Caravan for earlier models but not for this vehicle. I made an appointment with Chrysler for the repair but the soonest they could take me was in approximately a month, August 14. Since I travel to and from work at night alone and with three young children, I had the repair done immediately at a local reputable repair shop. The part replaced was the steering wheel module and the part alone was $469 plus labor. The total cost was over $750 for which I have the repair bill. This is a faulty design to a part that is closed up in the steering wheel and has failed for no apparent reason in the same model car from Dodge/Chrysler and from what I have read, Jeep brand as well. Not acceptable.
