I have had to replace my battery, alternator (twice), starter, engine and now the computer. All of these problems stemmed from soy coated electrical wires being chewed on by chipmunks. My car had to be towed a total of 5 times since October 2016 due to all of these issues. The check engine and battery would come on and then go off before I could get the car to the dealership to get it plugged in. The dealership told me they cant plug it into the computer unless a malfunction light is on. Went to leave and the car was completely dead. The dealer ship replaced the battery and told me that was the problem. The next day I went to work and my car had no power would not accelerate and when it did it had a hesitation, it just stalled and I lost everything. The dealership told me that I needed a new engine mind you no lights were coming on no warning lights on the dash or anything but they told me that my starter and alternator tested fine. I had to go pick up my car because they do not replace engines. I picked it up it started and ran fine for 4 miles and died. They told me then I needed a new alternator so I had the alternator replaced. I picked it up and drove it for a day and the car started making horrible noises and smelt like melted plastic the electronic throttle light came on, air bag light came on, battery light came on and so did the engine light. I took it to the dealership and they told me to replace the engine and gave me the name of someone to do it. I had the engine replaced along with a new starter and a sensor. Had the car for a half a day and it died again it was smelling like melted plastic again the electronic throttle light came on, air bag light came on, battery light came on took it to the dealership and they were able to plug it into the main diagnostic computer 2 weeks later by appointment they then told me that my alternator needed to be replaced again and that it was because wires had been shorting out from a chipmunk chewing on the soy covered wires. He said if they would have ran the diagnostic scan they would have found this problem out months ago and more than likely I would have never had to replace anything. I do believe this because I had never ever had a problem with this car I only had to do basic maintenance tires brakes oil changes. It was the best car I had own until a rodent (chipmunk) chewed my wires. Now I have just about spent what the cars excellent condition blue book value is having everything replaced.
