Avenger SE 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 40,000 miles

The TIPM malfunctioned and caused the starter not to shut off. I detached the battery to stop it. It was causing the starter to catch on fire. I also had a cracked thermostat housing, Made of cheap plastic. My alternator broke at around 40,000. Now my steering column is making a sound. I hate this car. If I could sell it I would. I had planned to have this car for a longtime. This was my first new car and I'm 53. I had old cars for YEARS that never had problems like this. I don't trust it anymore. By the way Chevy's and many other brands are junk too. I belong to a site that collects info from owners called Truedelta http://www.truedelta.com/car-reliability
