Avenger N8DB 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 30,000 miles

My husband and I own a 2008 Dodge Avenger SE, brand new. We have owned this car since October 2008.

In that time our AC/Compressor was went out costing us $1,000 to fix. Our passage side window motor has died twice (within a year span of each other) costing us $320 each time to get that fixed. Our serpentine belt and pulley went out last year costing us $300 to fix. Our EVAP system just started messing up, not yet fixed. The back door on the driver's side will not unlock at all, not yet fixed.

3 years ago our gear shift went out on the car and I was showed how to over ride it under the hood, can't remember how much this cost though to fix. At 60,000 miles the first alternator had to be replaced, we got a lifetime warranty put on the alternator, that cost us $800 to fix, then at 100,000 miles we had to get the alternator replaced for the 2nd time costing us $110 for labor due to us having that warranty on it. Our car as of today October 20, 2014 the car has 145,000 miles on it and it has to have another alternator replacement which is going to cost another $110 to fix, and now we also have to get a new battery due to the alternator using so much juice from the battery to keep charged.

We have put a lot of money into this car since 2008 and we never should have had to put that much into it within the first 2 years of owning this piece of crap car.

My husband and I have decided we are going back to Ford when we turn this car in and staying with Ford. Our Ford F-150 pickup truck didn't have this many problems until it was 11yrs old. We will NEVER buy another Chrysler/Dodge product again in this lifetime. Our kids will NEVER own a Chrysler/Dodge product either.

Advice: if you have any questions about getting or wanting to own or get a Chrysler/Dodge product; DON'T DO IT.

THESE CAR ARE A PIECE OF CRAP CARS. And I thought Chrysler/Dodge was good cars, I guess I was wrong.
