The radiator filler neck connecting the hoses from the radiator to the thermostat and engine is made of plastic.. the plastic wore away and crumbled apart causing the hose connecting to the thermostat to fall off; which caused my car to overheat.. we replaced filler neck and hoses however after running for about 10 minutes my car is still over heating... I am not sure why a car company would use a piece of plastic thinner than PVC piping to transport water and chemicals to and from the radiator and engine .. not very bright.. However this poorly thought out piece has now possible caused severe and expensive damage to my car... It is being inspected tomorrow by my body shop and I will have the estimate by Wednesday 9/12/2017.

I am hoping all that happened was the thermostats (multiple) were ruined and can easily be replaced .. but considering Dodge thought it would be a good idea to use thin plastic as a fluid transport and that plastic crumbled away (surprise surprise) it could be very possible I now have plastic caught in my engine or radiator which we all know will destroy the engine or radiator ...

thermostat housing leaking causing to overheat

Nothing but a headache. Afraid to go travel to work or the grocery store for fear the car will overheat in traffic. Very dissatisfied with my vehicle. I am a single female with limited income. $361.00 is a struggle for me to repair the housing system.

I have the vehicle serviced as needed but never expected this to happen. When I took it into Pep Boys Auto shop to have it checked and was told that several Dodge vehicles had been in for the cooling system with the same or similar complaint.
