Avenger

  • Automatic transmission
  • 110,000 miles

Son driving home from school, friend in front passenger seat. Out of nowhere the front passenger headrest deployed and smacked his friend in the head, giving him whiplash....which is what this "safety" feature is supposed to prevent. Vehicle was not involved in any accidents at the time, or prior. Tried to reset the headrest but some piece of plastic holding it together is broken and from what I'm reading on other people's complaints, this fix is not cheap, nor covered by the manufacturer, even though it is clearly a DEFECT in the manufacturing! Son is leery now of driving, afraid his driver's side headrest will do the same and cause him to have an accident.
