I hadn-??t on my car for very long when I stepped on the brakes and my passenger seat flew clear up to the dash. When I stopped and looked at it, they were little metal teeth all over the place underneath the seat. It won-??t go all the way up and lock it will only go all the way back and semi lock. If there-??s someone sitting in the passenger seat when I press on the brakes, it moves up a few inches and then back it will not lock completely
Passenger seat sliding mechanism not locking / latching properly. When coming to a stop the passenger seat will slide forward, sometimes an inch or two but sometimes further. This is a very well know issue I have discovered across multiple internet message boards and is due to inadequate slide bearings, and has been ongoing for years.
Passenger seat does slides back / forward - does not lock in position. The movement of the seat would be very unsafe in a collision or accident. The passenger seat became stiff to slide and rollers fell out. Now, the seat moves freely front to back with accel / decel. In additiona, when the seat is moved up / forward to allow a passenger to enter the backseat, it will not push back down in position without manually releasing a cable under the seat. There has been some kind of failure in the seat leading to an unsafe condition. When trying to figure out what went wrong and what fixes are out there, it became clear many others have had the same issue.
