Charger Daytona RT 5.7L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 132,790 miles

I pick up a Charger Daytona RT last year, no lights on, clean car (1) owner. When I started the car to test drive it I hear this ticking noise. It was not that loud but I could hear it. I was told that it was the HEMI tick, something known to happen in older Dodges. Nothing to bother with.

Took it to the dealership to get the oil changed and the noise checked out. Was told by the dealership that it was ok, common thing on a Dodge with hi mileage WTF. Now it's flipping March and the noise is louder when I let it warm up in the morning driving me CRAZY.

I'm feeling like I got a bad Charger Daytona RT. Don't know if I should get the it repaired or what. Car will not be paid for till 2020 and looking to see if I'm the only person dealing with this problem and what is the best solution to fix this. I'm done taking it to the dealership right now. I love my car don't get me wrong but don't feel like I should be getting a new engine.

Charger RT 5.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100,000 miles

I have a 2006 Dodge Charger RT with 100,000 miles on it. It was running fine and I stopped at a gas station and the car wouldn't start. Finally got it started, it blew out white smoke. Running very rough. I took to Dodge dealership and was told that cylinder 4 has a crack in it. Only $7,500 for a new motor through the dealership. This seems like a common problem. The dealership had the attitude oh another one. Obviously, there is a problem with this motor. I will never buy another Dodge since they don't stand behind their products.

Charger SXT 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 142,000 miles

I thought that maybe I was unknowingly out of oil, but that is not the case. The noise usually goes away after about 5 minutes, but not always. I've noticed the noise, though a bit quieter sometimes through an entire day of driving. (Coming and going places...not continuous driving.)

I started putting the highest octane fuel in my car and I have always used full synthetic oil.
