Between 3000 mile oil changes I have to put at least 2 quarts of oil in the rig to shut off my oil light. Upon checking the stick, the oil is almost empty. I've never had a car with this issue before.

Charger SXT 3.5L LV6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 47,846 miles

Bought it in April 2012, at 3000 km checked oil stick found no oil what so ever. Immediately changed the oil and monitored consumption - it appears it loses 1 quart every 1000 km . At hard acceleration black smoke comes trough exhaust. Think I will upgrade to R/T as this seems common problem on this German. Or maybe Chrysler will pay for oil changes every 1000 clicks?

Charger SE 3.5L

we have a 2007 dodge charger that has 100,000 miles now but for the last 2 years it has used one quart of oil every 1000 miles or so, but now when you drive the car and let it get warmed up then turn it off it won't start again until you turn the key to the off position then try one more time then it starts right up every time! our mechanic is stumped and can't figure it out ? dose any one eles have the same problem and know what the fix is?

Charger SXT 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 65,000 miles

This car has had the oil changed every 3000 miles and also filter changed. It has never been abused whatsoever. I have had it since it was new and this really sucks driving around in a vehicle that now needs a quart of oil every 1200 miles. If someone at dodge does nothing with this problem when I have my appointment in aug. I will never buy another dodge again and tell everyone I see the same. There should be a massive recall on all high performance 3.5 high output engines that dodge has put in alot of vehicles.

I will go back and buy another maxima I am almost ready to say boy am I sorry now!!!!!

Oil consumption on a 2007 car with only 81000 km? Yes. According to the Charger forums, this is not uncommon. Wow, this is another disappointment. I have taken it to the dodge dealer for an oil consumption log. Mercedes quality? Not.
