Charger SE 2.7L V6

  • Automatic transmission

To have engine failure on a 6 year old vehicle with less than 60k miles on it is f*cking ridiculous. I have started to do some initial research and discovered that this is a common problem with the 2.7L Dodge engine and there are several pending lawsuits. It bothers me even more that the engine was produced and used for years when this is apparently a known problem.

Been a Dodge fan for years. The one thing I have learned is NEVER USE synthetic oil IN A Dodge, Chrysler or Jeep product. One, it voids the warranty; Two, IT WILL TRASH THE ENGINE!!!

Charger SE 2.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 67,000 miles

I purchased a 2009 Dodge Charger SE with a 2.7L V-6 new at the end of 2009. my motor started knocking November 2014 just in 5 years with 67000 miles on it, Mind you I purchased this car with a Lifetime Powertrain Warranty. Now that the motor is knocking Thorton road Dodge in Douglasville Georgia the dealer where this vehicle was purchased will not honor the warranty because they say now that you have to bring your car in every 5 years to be evaluated to see if they will continue the warranty. when I purchased this car I was told by the salesman as long as I own this vehicle it is a lifetime warranty when I sell this vehicle the warranty is gone. So now Chrysler Warranty company say's if I have the motor fixed for a sum of anywhere from $3000.00 to $8000.00 dollars they will reinstate the warranty. how is this a lifetime warranty? This is also a car that is garage kept with oil changes every 3000 miles.

Obviously Dodge is selling LEMONS screwing the American people. I was trying to contact the CEO of Chrysler and Dennis from customer care told me that will never happen, What kind of company are they running? Especially when we the Taxpayers had to bail them out if anyone remembers that.

Charger 2.7

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100,000 miles

Thank you Dodge. I was a dummy buying another one!! My first car 07 Magnum Engine blown at 82,0000 miles. Now 2009 Charger same thing. Thank you Dodge for ripping off America with your worthless lemons. Out of no where the car starts rattling, take it to Wallyworld for oil change. Still making noises go to mechanic and still the same take it to DODGE and guess what! The engine is blown. I promise to tell the world about the crap you sell to us Americans! This was a set up from DODGE believe that. They recall law enforcement vehicles but not for civilian independent purchasers. Dont believe me look it up! Thank DODGE I HOPE BANKRUPTCY COURT SEES YOU SOON!

Charger 5.7L Hemi

  • Automatic transmission
  • 50,000 miles

This motor is a piece of crap. I use my vehicle for employment and I am a officer. There are 3 other Dodge Chargers that are having the same issues that are also in the fleet. I won my vehicle so this problem is very bad for me. The check engine light comes on all the time. I have had the vehicle looked at and every time I fix a problem another problem occurs. Before this main issue it was small issues like sensors going out or brakes wearing very quick. Now the motor has done everything except stop. The motor is not even 2 years old and I am looking to have to put a new one in it. The oil has been changed every time 3000 miles rolled in and I use top quality synthetic oil. I use the best products when maintnance is done to the vehicle, but the engine is crap. Like I said there have been 3 of the Dodge Chargers that co-workers use that have had over 4,000 in engine repairs.
