My 2011 Dodge Charger had a smell of a burnt altenator. Car ABS light came on and my radio turned off and there was a whining noise in the engine compartment. The car has electrical problems, the battery is in a power save mode I have not gone to the dealer yet. Its my 3rd incident with the car. Headlights and brakes. I will have to get it towed, I don't trust to drive it. It running on the battery only. It needs to be recalled

Last year 2013, right around 35000 miles in my 2011 Dodge Charger, I took it in to my dealership because the engine light came on, their response was that it had something to do with the fuel but they could not tell me exactly what the problem was because the analysis would not specify it, and we also told them that we could smell gas, they said that it could be the gas cap but that was it.we found out it was only when we filled the tank so I was putting only 20 dllrs cause we did not want the smell in the car.on April 2014 we went to phoenix which is a 3 hour drive and when we were about to come back my brother-in-law noticed something was leaking from under the car, we found out it was gas coming from the tank, we risked it and took the road back to the house.the next day I went to the dealer again and told them about what happened and their response was that the warranty had already expired and if I wanted it fixed I would have to pay for whatever costs it would take to do so, I said that I had taken it before I ran out on the warranty, again they said they could not do anything about it.while searching in the internet I saw some articles describing the same situation that I have, faulty gas hoses, called the dealer again and again the same response, that if I wanted to be safe I would have to fix it myself.

While turning left to cross multiple lanes on the highway, I accelerated to go and the car began coasting. I pressed on the gas and nothing! I put it in neutral, heard it rev and put it into drive..still nothing! the car would not accelerate. With on coming traffic and cars swerving to keep from plowing into me, I quickly put the car in park, shut it off, tried to re-started it (X3)and put it in drive. I was finally able to get it to go. The next day, my car was hard to start (X3). After warming up for approximately 10 mins, I left for work. Low & behold, the same exact thing happened at the same exact spot except this time my car shut off during the turn. Once again, with oncoming traffic and speeding cars dodging my stopped vehicle, I immediately threw it into park, tried to restart it X2, then put it in drive and was able to get out of the way of the tractor trailer who was not going to be able to stop! on the way to the dealership, it happened twice to my husband but the dealership says "there is no code, it hasn't happened to us and thus no problem" I can assure you, as a deputy sheriff, this problem isn't just dangerous, it's deadly!

Driving at 70mph speed limit, a car came over into my lane, and I had to slow down. I then pushed down on the accelerator to get back up to speed, and nothing. There was no acceleration at all, even after I kept pushing on the peddle. I had to take a fast look behind me, and go across 3 lanes of traffic, all going 70mph and more, to get the car to the right side of the road. We were lucky the 4 of us were not killed. The car went down to below 30mph, even though I kept pushing on the gas. Then it took off. This happened 2 times, and not quit so bad a few other times. We were on a 1 month trip, and when we left the car had just over 6,000 miles on it, and was 6 months old. When we got home it was 7 months old with 12,000 miles on it. At one point Chrysler Corp.told me it fits into the car buy back replacement program. They did not help me.I got a 2012 Charger because I did not trust the 2011. It could kill someone. They say the car is fixed, but I am not going to risk my family's life on it. Has there been any other cars with this problem, of no acceleration" is it a problem with the multiple displacement system" sounds like it. Thank you for your help. It sounds like Chrysler Corp.just dose not believe me, that there is no acceleration. Parts replaced were, hydraulic-tappets, multiple displacement solenoid, head gasket, sparkplugs, oil&filter.

2011 Dodge Charger. Consumer expresses discontent concerning Chrysler corporation the consumer stated the vehicle would not start and Chrysler was aware there was an issue and never informed him. The consumer also stated the vehicle has a terrible blind spot, which was restrictive, as his body transgressed higher towards the back making it difficult seeing low hoods. Also, the rear window view was higher, apparently to allow more trunk space, which blocked the consumer from seeing, the hood when backing out of parking spaces. The consumer stated he could barely see the speedometer, the numbers were a lot smaller and difficult to read. Also, it was difficult to adjust the tilt wheel.
