The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Charger. While driving 30 mph, the contact heard a scraping sound on the pavement. Simultaneously, the power steering seized and the transmission failed. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road where she noticed that the driveshaft was detached. The vehicle was towed to her home. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was then towed to wilson Ford Lincoln (2231 us-250, white hall, wv 26554, (304) 363-0500) and then to country club Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (1251 milford St, clarksburg, wv 26301, (304) 624-7611). The dealers diagnosed that the bolt on the driveshaft loosened and caused it to detach. The contact was also informed that the vehicle was previously repaired per NHTSA campaign number: 17V097000 (power train). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
