CarComplaints.com Notes: The first year of the new Dodge Dart had a rough start, with owners reporting a disproportionate number of engine and transmission problems.

For transmission, the main complaints are transmission failure & rough shifting. So far, average mileage for transmission failure is 25,000 miles. Not good.

For engine problems, it usually starts with the engine light coming on for any number of reasons: bad sensors, ignition coil replacement, bad wiring, faulty gas cap ... dealers are replacing various components with varying degrees of success, or telling owners they can't duplicate the issue.

It's been in shop several times and I've asked about my brakes and they tell me nothing is wrong but there has been a recall on them for a while now. They don't want to stop some days and others they make noise. They also are very touchy someday like can barely tap on brakes and your eating the windshield. They keep telling me they don't hear the noise and there is nothing wrong with my brakes but I almost ran into another vehicle because they wasn't letting me slow down in the right amount of speed with the right amount of distance to have came to a complete stop. This car has so many glitches it's starting to become a problem instead of being nice that it's a new vehicle I purchased.

I have had my car in shop several times told them about my brakes and they say there is nothing wrong. I told them on the last 2 visits to the shop my brakes had a recall and still nothing. I sometimes find it hard to slow down properly. And they make noises and then sometimes they seem very very touchy. I can't seem to get anything done.

brakes make whishing sound, pop, brake petal cant go down

THERE IS A RECALL ON 2013, 2014 DODGE DARTS FOR THIS ISSUE, HOWEVER MY CAR IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL, DODGE NEEDS TO EXPAND THIS RECALL TO INCLUDE MORE OF THE DARTS MANUFACTURED, I HAVE HAD MY CAR THE THE DEALERSHIP TWICE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AND TWICE TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM AND REPLACE THE PARTS. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM. I DRIVE MY CAR DAILY TO WORK AND BACK, AND HAVE TWO SMALL CHILDREN IN THIS CAR DAILY. VERY UNSAFE, AND UNNERVING!!!

The front and rear brake rotors glazed and with hot spots, they recommend to reface front and rear rotors and apply quiet stop and front and rear pads. No repair performed at this point. If it is still under warranty, why the dealer did not repaired, that was the 2nd. time for the same issue.
