Have a 2013 Dart SXT 1.4T manual. I'm going on 2 years with the car, bought it with just under 20K. Since buying it, I've had spouts of check engine light for underboost occasionally come on and go back off soon after, never much of a bother since it never lasted long enough to get the dealership to catch it while the light was still on. Yesterday, 1/10/17, my car was driving normally until I tried to get on the highway, at about 40 mph the engine started stuttering pretty bad, but I didn't think anything of it because no lights were coming on on the dash. Until I hit 50. Suddenly the ce light started flashing, the car wouldn't go above 50 mph and the rpms wouldn't even hit 4000. Pulled over, turned the car off and back on, the ce light was back off. Revved the engine for a bit, no issues. As soon as I attempted to accelerate again, the ce light started flashing and then stayed solid this time. Called a tow truck to tow the car to the dealer since clearly it was dangerous to be driving. Once I got to the dealer, started the car up to move it into a parking spot and suddenly neither the tachometer or speedometer were working. They were working normally on the side of the highway. Its like the entire powertrain decided to have a total meltdown all at once. This is not acceptable for a 3 year old car with less than 50K miles on it. I have changed the intake on the car and the hot/cold side piping for the intercooler, but they have been on the car for over a year and I've been sure to regularly check connections and keep them well maintained to prevent any issues, there's no way they are the cause of the powertrain suddenly having a meltdown.

The manual transmission does not allow you to shift into certain gears after starting the car. This can occur for a while after the initial ignition, often not allowing the vehicle to move through intersections safely. I sometimes cannot shift into 1st gear after stopping at a stoplight, and sometimes cannot shift into second gear, if I am able to get it into 1st gear. Occasionally, if I leave the transmission in 1st gear or reverse when parked, and I start the vehicle, even though the clutch pedal is fully depressed, the transmission is engaged, and causes the vehicle to move on ignition. Applying the brakes makes stalls the vehicle. I occasionally have to pump the brakes, and/or clutch pedal several times in order to allow the transmission to change gears properly. I have read several posts on forums indicating that it is due to a defective master and/or slave cylinder. Dodge has acknowledged the issue by extending the length of the warranty on this part, but I believe that this should be a safety recall. It's very frightening when you are trying to move out of an intersection, and there is oncoming traffic, and you cannot get the car into the next gear. This started happening about a year ago, and seems to be increasing in occurrence.

I purchased this car used from a Kia dealer. I haven't even had it one month yet. While driving one day backing out of a parking space my brakes would not stop. I went to push down on them and it felt like I was trying to push down a brick. It wouldn't budge. You could hear air as you hit the brake but nothing else. A brake light popped up on the screen followed by a car with a swirly line behind it. I almost backed into someone and almost wrecked my car. Thank god my kids weren't with me and no one was hurt.

This car is 3 years old and we have had to replace the body control module (BCM), and transmission control module (tcm). The check engine light is still on and Dodge is still trying to find out what is wrong with it. Before replacing the body control module the car wasn't starting so the battery was replaced, it turns out the BCM was staying on and drawing power form the battery while the car was off. We were constantly having to jump the car to get it started. After that the transmission started acting funny it would shift hard, shift into low gears while driving on the freeway. Also when first started or stopped at a traffic intersections the vehicle would shift into 4th gear on its own unless in sport mode and done manually. This makes it accelerate very slowly which is dangerous especially when pulling out into an intersection. After replacing the tcm the issue with the transmission is still occurring, it is currently being looked and the cause is still unknown.

My 2013 1.4L turbo Dart was in service within the last 2 weeks. Was informed that my slave cylinder, master cylinder and brake booster needed to be replaced and was under recall. Ended up in an accident on the freeway because my ABS failed and my car slid. I was informed that it does have to do with the brake booster. Was told by Dodge parts were on order, I call and they have no record and that there are no recalls for my vehicle. When it was inspected was informed the three above parts needed to be replaced and they said it was all recall parts. Of course no forms or documentation was given at the appointment.

Right now I have issues with my evap system, transmission and engine. With the evap system I am not sure what is going on with it and I have replaced the gas cap as the system stated and I still have the issue. The engine issue now is that the car is very hesitant than from before. Especially in first gear. I have to rev the engine to get going sometimes. I almost was involved in an accident. Now the clutch goes to the floor with little resistance or sticks to the floor when I am on the road for a while or when it has been sitting for a while. I have had this car for a year and few months and it just gets worse. I really believe that this car is unsafe.

I am writing to complain about the length of time that it took for my vehicle. It stated clearly in the recall letter I received that the service would take 1 hour. Maybe a little longer. When I made the appt. I was told the parts were in stock. I dropped off my car the next morning, and was told 3 hours if I wanted to wait. I called them 2 days later and was told parts needed to be ordered, and it would be 2 weeks until they (the dealership) could get them. After the 2 weeks, with no update from them, I got a call saying the parts didnt take, they would have to order them again. This happened one more time. All in all my car was in the shop for a month for a 1 hour treatment. On top of that my vehicle, which I am afraid to drive in, was returned to me filthy and with a broken seat. After over 30 days in a dealership and it couldnt even be detailed or cleaned"? maybe an oil change" I have complained to Dodge and they are sweeping it under the rug just as the dealership has done.

After lengthy oil consumption tests on car by the dealer, I was told it burns 1 quart of oil every 1000 miles and I would have to add oil at that rate. Also told this was "acceptable" by Chrysler. No low oil light comes on, even when the engine totally failed and I had to have it towed to the dealership. Currently have 25000 miles after 2.5 years owned.

When attempting to start my Dart, the clutch pedal will have no tension in it. The pedal will go straight down to the floor with no effort and will stick down. I have to use my foot to pull it back up. The car will also not go into gear when this occurs. You have to either turn the car off or let it stall, then pump the clutch 10-20 times in order to get the tension needed. Sometimes this doesn't help at all and you have no choice but to attempt to drive it. This is extremely unsafe! fca knows there is an issue, they've extended the warranty to 60,000, but my car having 83, xxx miles they don't care. First extended service corporation who I purchased an "extended service agreement" through doesn't care either. I asked to speak with a supervisor and the representative flat out told me "no" and hung up. I've been having this problem for well over a year. We've contacted the dealership and others around and they said it wouldn't be covered under warranty. This is a safety concern, how is it not a recall"!"

While driving on a highway going about 75 mph my 2013 Dodge Dart acted up out of nowhere. The car suddenly decreased in speed my entire dashboard lit up, the check engine light and the throttle control light stayed on. Luckily I was very close to an exit and put my flashers on and exited to get to safety. This car has been acting up with day one and continues to impress me with the # of repairs done. There is also something that has baffled about 5 mechanics and is still doing. The clutch keeps on sticking and the car can not be put into gear. Many mechanics and dealerships can not figure out how to fix or what is wrong. I will never buy a chrystler brand again and definitely not recommend.
