2014 Dodge Dart. Consumer writes in regards to dealership representatives not able to provide repair information for recall notice 15V-800 recall notice.
The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Dart. The contact stated that the recall notice for NHTSA campaign number: 15V800000 (service brakes) was received in January of 2016. After contacting the dealer and the manufacturer on multiple occasions, the contact was informed that the parts needed to repair the vehicle were still not available and no estimated time for receiving the parts could be given. The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Dart. The contact stated that while driving at 35 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and failed to engage. The vehicle was towed to the dealer to be diagnosed and repaired. The contact was informed that there was fluid contamination of the brake booster. The vehicle was repaired under NHTSA campaign number: 15V800000 (service brakes, hydraulic), however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 23,969. Updated 04/29/16 the dealer informed the consumer the recall was performed. However, they did not know why the electrical brake system fail light was on. The dealer performed a multi-point inspection and returned the vehicle to the consumer. However, four days later while driving, the brakes failed again and the electrical brake fail light came on again. The vehicle was towed to the dealer again. The dealer stated it was a manufacturer problem. The consumer was given a loaner vehicle. Updated 05/19/16.
