Finally had to have tranny rebuilt at 157000 km (98000 miles) after driving it with faulty second gear for a couple years. Started out with occasional slipping out of 2nd when downshifting to accelerate, then after a couple months and ever after had to shift manually from 1rst to D because wouldn't go on 1rst gear automatically. Durango 5.9L

Sticks in 1st gear and wont shift to 2nd until I manually shift to neutral and then to drive ....shifts fine 3rd to 4th. I understand it could be a governor pressure sensor and solenoid.....and possibly more. AAMCO says i could be looking at a $2200 rebuild, I ran codes and received a P1756 which is governor pressure sensor, i'm told to replace it along with the solenoid. ALSO my A/C doesn't blow very well in the front and its sh*tty for cooling me off.

other than that I towed my 2 motorcycles and toolbox from california to Illinois with hardly no trouble,,,,froze my ass off because my heater doesn't work so good for heat. of course i towed all that before i had the shifting problems, actually 2 years before.

blah blah blah......
