CarComplaints.com Notes: The third generation Durango is plagued by a defective TIPM, particularily in the 2011 and 2012 model years.

TIPM, which stands for Totally Integrated Power Modules, is responsible for controlling and distributing power to all the vehicle’s electrical functions. So when your TIPM goes haywire, bad things start happening. Things like your water pump can stop working, your engine can stall out and your airbags can randomly deploy.

My wife was driving to work which is only about 5 miles away from home. Anyway she was almost to work and said the gauges started going crazy and the rpms revved up really high. Then she said the brake got hard to push. I was already aware of the recall and was on a waiting list for a new brake booster but I wasn't sure if this was a related problem. She made it to work freaked out cause she said that the brake was so hard she didn't know if the car was even gonna stop.

So.... I had a tow truck pick it up and take it to the dealer. They ended up replacing the brake booster and said everything went crazy cause it needed software updates. I asked them if the car always pretty much disabled every time it needed software updates but no one at a dealer will ever give a straight answer. Since then the car was fine, however, I will post another thread because the car is just over the factory warranty and another issue has arrived.

all engine lights on dash go on, rpm not working engine fan Having one of the worst customer service experince in my 50yrs of life! starting from the Dealer (Kendall Dodge) directly to Dodge Customer care, A mechanic made a decision, on my 2011 Citadel Durango Still under Manufacuture warrenty and that was all it took to have the worst car experince that I have ever encountered. Reporting to Dodge customer care was the 2nd Worst, they will give you the run around but no action was ever taken on the part to help.

Update from Apr 28, 2014: After exhausted back and forth with Dodge Customer Care and my Car still sitting disassembled at the Dealer now going on 4 MONTHS I had my Insurance Company go out for a second time and do a more thorough investigation And again found NO trace of my car being in ANY level of water damage, again they stated as I had Always thought (Since car was in the dealer before for same problem) that is a mechanical Issue and not an Insurance issue. I relayed this to Dodge Customer Care, but they still are Sticking to what the dealer said, So apparently they want the owner to pay for defect that The car caused, But dealer has no clue of the extent of damage nor can they quote a Repair cost , which was something the Insurance also needed to determine the cause of problem. But since Dealer cannot prove how or why the damage was caused, they want someone else To pay, So this shows the LACK of Customer Care that Dodge gives its loyal customer both at Dealer level and Corporate level. I Have filed a Complaint letter to the Florida Division of Consumer Services and are looking at other options to take Action against Dodge and Kendall Dodge.
