I have a 2014 Dodge Durango that has trouble starting at times. It will crank for several seconds with no start. When the start button is pressed again to start, it normally starts with no issues. It's an intermittent no start issue.

My husband and I were on our way to go shopping and the vehicle started to jerk and wouldn't go as I was accelerating the gas pedal. We drove approximately 1 mile and then the vehicle stopped running. Kept trying to start to no avail. My husband is disabled and he had a cast on his leg. I called AAA to get a wrecker to take us to a garage to check out why it died. At the garage for 3 hours the mechanic said it was the fuel pump and the cost would be $1000 and would take a day and a half to get the part and then repair.

I know that the 2012-2013 Dodge Durango had a recall but nothing on the 2014. I think that we had the same issue as the previous models and that we should be reimbursed for our expense of replacing this fuel pump. Understand that it was difficult for my disabled husband with cast on his leg to get into wrecker.

My Dodge Durango when start it seems it out of gas. Hear the cranking for several time up to 7 times without running the engine. I thought it might be from the battery, so I change it with a new battery but still problem exist.

I found that when I put the car in the "RUN" mode (the ignition) without pressing the brake pedal for less than a minute, the car run after couple of cranking.

A guy in dealer shop told me that issue is from Fuel Pump and need to be changed. After search in internet found there is a recall for previous model (2011-2013) on the fuel pump relay.
