Doors won't lock with fob have to lock them each by hand also automatic locking of all doors at app. 20 miles an hour does not work either. I read about pulling 20 amp fuse out then putting it back in it worked. It lasted about 2 weeks then happened again, did the same thing with the fuse it worked again for about 3 weeks then stopped working again, pulled fuse and put back in it worked again for about 2 weeks.
The van has had a problem for the last 3 months. Riding on the van, suddenly the gauges in the dashboard start to flicker and jump like crazy and the engine stalls and dies in the middle of the road.this is dangerous. I can cause an accident. I have changed the alternator, the battery, the PCM, and still have the problem. I have contacted the factory and they don't have a solution for this dangerous situation. There are many vehicles in the same situation. Does the factory have to assume some responsibility?
The headlights will flicker, the same time they flicker the dash lights for the odometer will flicker as well. I've also noticed when this started the small light next to my hazard button on the dash flickers as well, even though no one is in that seat. This problem is distracting and makes it difficult to drive at night. This problem has seemed to have gotten worse since it started. I've tried running the van with and without the A/C but this did not solve the issue.
Power locks do not work with door switches or key fob. Key fob only unlocks rear hatch. All other locks must be locked and unlocked manually. I have tried internet suggestions all ending in the same results. After hearing of other complains on this issue, I hope I don't get locked in and cant get out!!!
I love our van as far as convenience and features, but have had progressive electrical issues. The first issue was the automatic sliding doors stopped working. We had to switch off the power and use them manually. The interior light at the driver's side slide shorted out. Every now and then it decides to work. Then the door locks on both of the slides stopped working. Some times the door locks will not unlock the lift gate and we have to open it with the key. The front map lights work some of the time. My front windows have stopped working at different times and the begin working again. Sometimes the things have reset if I had to get my battery jumped off or when I replaced my battery. The most concerning thing to me is that my right rear brake light and turn signal lights keep blowing. I have replaced them numerous times and the last time it still did not work. Now I just don't have a light. Not sure how expensive this will be to fix. Very frustrated at the continuous and complex issues that are going on. Seems that there should be a recall since I have heard of various others that I know having these type of issues.

The driver side window stopped working. Both sliding doors work only occasionally. Most of the time they have to be opened and closed manually. None of the door locks work. I have to open the driver's door with the key then reach over to the other doors and manually pull the locks up to unlock and down to lock. Neither the remote nor the internal auto lock works. Only the trunk lock works with the remote.
Power locks suddenly quit working for driver & passenger rear sliding doors. Unable to remotely lock/unlock those doors and have to manually lock each door separately. If battery is disconnected/reconnected, still doesn't work.
Passenger side power sliding door would not unlock manually or with any of the remote buttons. Problem was resolved by replacing defective right side sliding door actuator.
Auto locks are not working for driver, passenger and 2 rear sliding doors. Unable to remotely lock/unlock the car and have to manually lock each door separately. If battery is disconnected, it works for a few days and stops working again.
Automatic door locks do not work. I disconnect the battery and reconnect it and it seems to correct itself for a day or two, but then goes back to being defective again. I'm aware of several other people with the same problem with this model. This should be a recall.
The contact owns a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that he attempted to enter the vehicle but the vehicle could not be unlocked whether using the key fob or using the key manually. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for inspection. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 74,000. Updated 4/24/13 the consumer stated the drivers door would open with the key. However, the power door locks and power doors would remain inoperative, until the body control module was reset. Updated 05/0613
Power locks have to be reset by disconnecting and reconnecting the battery every few days. Since this apparently is a widespread problem, why hasn't there been a manufacturer recall to fix this defect?
The automatic locks stopped working, I was able to reset them by disconnecting the battery but the fix is only temporary. Now only 1 door is affected but on occasion the problem starts over again until I reset the locks by disconnecting the battery.
The power locks on this vehicle stopped working correctly. I have looked online and many other people have the same issue. The manufacturer should have to pay to fix this issue. The only fix is to have the computer reflashed at a dealer at a cost of around $400. I have locked myself out of my vehicle a few times because the door locks will just intermittenly lock for no reason or if you put the windows down, the doors will lock. It is a mess. This is an obvious flaw with the manufacturing of the vehicle and the manufacturer should have to fix it.
The power locks stoped working. They will not luck/unluck with the interior door switch nor with the remote on the key. The tail gate lock will luck/unlock with the key remote only. Removing the iod fuse for a while will correct the porblem for a day or two.
Power door locks stopped working. I found articles online to disconnect battery and reconnect at which time the issue went away. After a week or so the locks stopped working again. I went to the dealer and they informed me that I needed to microcode update to correct the issue. Since my mileage was above 36K there was a $175 fee. I refused to pay it since the car was under 3 years old and it was a computer issue. I contacted Dodge and they refused to waive the fee. The car is now 8 years old and Dodge has not released the updated microcode to any service companies and only allows dealerships to update the microcode where most will upgrade for free. I believe this is done intentionally to charge current Dodge owners for poor engineering.
The power door locks on this 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan just stopped working. Key fob sounds horn when locking, but locks do not engage. Very dangerous for travel as locks do not engage when vehicle reaches 18 mph.
