transmission cooler line(s) leaking transmission cooler line(s) leaking transmission cooler line(s) leaking transmission cooler line(s) leaking

We purchased this Vehicle in Ontario Canada in June of 2012 brand new. From Day 1 it has had nothing but transmission problems until present day January 2019 with 38,000km on it (yes the mileage is correct & in Kilometers, not Miles) We purchased a 5 year Power Train Extended warranty - Chrysler Q60A in June of 2017 (because the resale is so miserable, it was cheaper to buy the warranty & hope to get the problem fixed) rather than take a bigger hit than trade it and our base Factory warranty was about to run out & we still had transmission issues & didn't trust any good will from Chrysler. )

This will be our very last Chrysler & no more American cars for us, we've always supported American cars for the last 50+years , no longer. Next car will be a Toyota Made in Canada

Took the car in for an oil change & emissions test Friday January 18th 2019 at my Local Chrysler / Dodge Dealer. Their fast lane performed the oil change & found a leak, but said because they aren't certified mechanics they can say for sure if there is a leak or not. (1st --why are non-mechanics working on my car ?????) So i booked it in for Wednesday January 30th at the same dealer to have it inspected by an actual mechanic. They found the Transmission Cooler lines to be leaking. They quoted $107.30 parts / Labour 2.0hr - $244 / Total $351.30 CAD

Not gonna happen. Considering the lines are $99.00 CAD , I'll just make sure if I go to my family mechanic that him using the Chrysler Parts & Fluid won't void the Q60A Extended Warranty that we bought....that apparently doesn't cover this part ....because it was bought at 5 years old ---making it a pre-owned warranty instead of buying the plan at 4 years old ---making it a new warranty which would allow me to use my $200 deductible and have it covered and fixed at the dealer.

As I got home and shut the car off I see I have now exactly 38,000 Kilometers on our 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan.

-it's had recall fixes -transmission flashes (reprogram) -transmission pulled & repaired under warranty ( still isn't right ) -popping noises from engine area when idling at a traffic light or stop sign etc. -drive door at the bottom , steel was made wrong (didn't notice until out of warranty)

and it only has 38,000KM on it!!!!!!!!!!

we've had -79 Dodge Magnum (bought new ) -89 Plymouth Voyageur Turbo Van (bought new ) -1986 k car (bought from family used , but they bought new ) -1999 Intrepid (bought used from family who bought it new ---what a piece of junk) -2012 Dodge Grand Caravan (bought new )

NEVER EVER AGAIN --- the only reason we haven't traded this pile of garbage is because it's not worth much on a trade so being as we go to Krown Rust Control , and take good care of it otherwise, we will ride the extended warranty out hope that tranny grenades itself and they will finally fix it right or trade it to a new car dealer after the warranty is up.

I actually have a 3 inch-D Ring Binder and it's almost full from all the service appointments, warranty, recall and everything we've had to do to this car.

I am going to buy a lottery ticket this week. Hope I win for 1 reason ... so I can afford to hire a demolition company & blow this van up ON CAMERA and I hope it goes viral on YouTube so maybe someone at Chrysler & the big 3 get the message.

For us next vehicle is a Toyota Rav4 or Toyota Highlander. I'm done with American Junk. Sad as it is to say.

Update from Feb 26, 2019: Update: as of February 19th , 2019 had the Transmission Cooler Line Replaced on Feb 19th , 2019 at a different dealer. $99 for the Transmission Cooler Line ( OEM part ) & $110 for Labour + top up fluid = $243 Total Tax inc. The Dealer that found the leak wanted an 2hrs at $244 labour to replace the line(s) (before tax) The Dealer O bought the car from brand new back in 2012...they only wanted 1hr at $110 to replace the line (before tax)

Apparently this line is a common thing. 1 of the dealers sold about 90 of these Transmission Cooler lines #050052404AG in one year. 38,000km it leaks. Granted it is almost 7 years old, but it wasn't leaking because of rust.

The leak wasn't that big, but because it took me a week or better to track down the 1 service manager to ask if I could take the car somewhere else such as a private mechanic or another dealer or if they could price match another dealer (I have an extended warranty I didn't want to void q60a which didn't cover this ) It was a major pain because we didn't want to run it out of fluid & had no way to check the dipstick as their is none now on these new cars.

Definitely Last Chrysler product for us. The Dealers suck, and so does the product.
