Grand Caravan RT V6

  • Automatic transmission

The A/C system on this van is absolute garbage. It has no power, not enough to cool the van effectively, especially during the summer. Luckily, we live in California, so our summers get hot but not to where it's unbearable. I could not imagine owning this van in Arizona or Nevada. It would be useless and uncomfortable to drive. The blower motor was replaced, and the evap system was recharged. At 25,000 miles, I was shocked. We have had multiple problems with the van, and it has not even hit 30,000!

Grand Caravan ES 3.2L V6

A/C has gone out three times in the last two years. Replaced blower motor twice and it would work but now it’s out again.

Grand Caravan SXT 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 61,500 miles

AC was hissing and not cooling down in back or front. In fact, driver side only was slightly cool and passenger and rear area was blowing warm. First attempt was that dealership only wanted to refill freon. Next they diagnosed the leak was in the rear evaporation cooler.

$1500.00 fix in the middle of summer at less than 62k miles.

Grand Caravan SE Plus 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 5,000 miles

A/C performs well when ambient temperature is around 80 degrees or less. It takes 5 to 10 minutes of drive time to cool down when it is 85 degrees outside. One time it took 20 minutes on the highway to cool down at 90 degrees. Turned the vehicle to shop at TWO different dealers in the past and the problem is still there.
