I have maintained my vehicle according to the manufacturers recommendations. I have taken it to the dealership where it was purchased.. to make sure all work was done to maintain my warranty, asking each time that the vehicle be checked for any necessary repair. October 11, 2011 took my car in for necessary oil change to maintain my car according to the manual and upon their overall check of the car because of the brake squeak I heard, they found problems with the rotors, pads and brakes. The service technician stated we should have received a letter about a recall, we have not received anything. I will be contacting Dodge Customer Service in the morning with my complaint, but after reading all the complaints on this site I will also be contacting the attorney general about a defective product that obviously will not find a remedy from the company that produced it. When I purchased this vehicle I never intended for it to make me financially bankrupt.

Oh hell...What a lemon my 2009 is beginning to be. My friend noticed the rear rotors had deep grooves in them and told me to bring it into shop and get them fixed. Well they did replace them and brakes or so they told me. Not long after I had them replaced the same problem has begun again and this time I hear a squeaking sound when brakes are applied. Mind you I had them replaced close to the 12,000 limit and now I I have 14,000 and some on it. The shop just gives me the run around claiming the grooves won't affect anything..I am a woman,please tell me what step I should do next.

I am a retired Chrysler employess and have driven their products for years,but now with this crap I am thinking of trading it in and crossing the street.

I am about to put my 4th set of front pads and my 2nd round of rotors on my 09 journey with only 100000 kilometers on it....this is brutal. I am a car guy and can do the work myself but it is just the time cost and inconvenience of having to fix and fix a problem that nobody at dodge can help with. I called and they told me this is a problem with these vehicles and to take it up with Chrysler Canada. This is brutal because they do not have recall on this to fix the problem. They have to know about it judging from the amount of complaints they have received.

Replaced rotors again at 52,000 miles. Assumed, this time, that aftermarket rotors weren't up to snuff as they warped soon after they were put in service. Purchased "Best Quality" Wagner Rotors buy they too started shaking after the first trip (>200m.), and then shake consistently after 2000 miles.

I called Dodge Customer Assistance and was told that due to the mileage on the car, and because I was not the first owner, NO ASSISTANCE could be rendered. As much as I love this car, and America, it will be the last Chrysler product I'll ever buy.

Read the complaints. They know the sweep area of the pads isn't adequate, they know the brakes are unsafe and they're still not going to fix it. NTSB.GOV should issue a recall on these cars/ brakes and make Chrysler put the upgraded calipers that are on the 2010/11 models. How can they get away with this. No wonder they're insolvent. No wonder why Daimler Benz dropped them. Guess it only makes sense that they're now part of Fiat. The only car company that makes bigger JUNK.

Replaced front AND rear brake pads and rotors in Feb 2011, within a few months noticed shaking of the steering wheel when braking. It is now August and I am having to replace the front rotors and brake pads AGAIN~! Apparently Dodge has no concern for the safety of its passengers, my vehicle is NOT included in a recall of any kind, and I will have to continue to replace the pads/rotors every 6 months apparently as there is no other option for rotors to fit this vehicle. I WILL not EVER recommend or buy another Dodge as long as I live!

I think I have some of this out of sequence. But now on 4th attempt and had front and rear rotors resurfaced. Received letter from Chrysler regarding brakes on Dodge Journey. Contacted Chrysler Customer Service. Not only did she tell me they could not help me, I asked to speak to her supervisor and she told me I was denied talking to anybody else that she was a supervisor. I told her she still had a boss. She again told me I was denied talking to anyway else and she was making a note in the file that I was denied talking to anyone else. Have contacted dealership and will be meeting with owner next week hopefully.

I had to take my car in and found out that I had to replace my front and back brake pads, along with replacing my front and back rotors. My back rotors were still within legal limits (just barely) so we only replaced the pads on the back. However we had to replace the front rotors. We will have to replace the rear rotors within the next 6 months. The store (firestone in chesapeake va) gave me both rotors and all my brake pads for evidence. They said that there is no reason that I should have had to replace my brake pads twice in 3 years nor should my rotors have been in the condition that they were in considering my car is 3 years old
