The contact owns a 2009 Dodge Journey. While parked, the vehicle stalled sporadically. The dealer diagnosed that the ignition switch malfunctioned and needed to be replaced. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 14V373000(electrical system); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 83,000. Updated 09/03/15

The contact had to use excessive force to steer the vehicle and the braking system malfunctioned. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after multiple attempts. The failure occurred multiple times. The vehicle was towed to a dealer for diagnostic testing. The technician stated that the ignition switch was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 14V373000 (electrical system). The approximate failure mileage was 52,000.

The contact owns a 2009 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that while driving 10 mph, she lost control of the steering wheel and crashed into a curb and there was an explosion noise at the vehicle front end. The vehicle was taken to the mechanic where it was found that the transfer case had a hole which caused it to explode. The contact also wanted to add that the brakes and rotors had worn prematurely and the ignition switch made a clicking noise. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacture was not made aware of the failure. The failure and current mileage was 81,000.
