Dodge should step up and buy these vehicles back for what people paid for these vehicles or allow people to turn them in on something that's road safe.

At this time I didn't know this was a know issue so I just went to a mechanic and got it fixed. Besides a couple problems here and there at this moment I was still min happy with my DODGE.

Journey SE 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 11,764 miles

Purchased new 2/26/11 - On 5/25/12 the vehicle had 11764 actual miles. Heard squealing noise when applying breaks - took to dealership and rear rotors warped and rear pads noisy. Dealership replaced rear rotors and pads. Picked up vehicle afternoon of 5/25/12. Drove vehicle home and have only driven vehicle yesterday 5/29/12 and today 5/30/12 to work and, again, the squealing has occurred on my way home (5/30/12). Called the service manager immediately and reported. Am taking into dealership first thing in morning again (5/31/12).

Firstly i paid a lot of money for this car leather seats sunrrof built in dvd player and i do love it but very disappointed with the service from dodge and the main problem my brakes before 10000km the car was shaking badly took it in to dealer waited 5 hrs for them to tell me they would have to get approval to get new brakes and rotar then finally got approval waited another 5 hrs for them to fix it drove out and within 1 week the braked were squeeling very badly so i took it back it waited another 5 hrs fr them to tell me need new brakes again have to wait for approval but did play around with brakes they should be better but no surprise they were squeeling worse so 1 month later after riniging 4 times and someone saying they will call back still got nothing i feel that a car less then one year old should not have this problem especially brakes it is dangerous very unhappy

Journey

  • Automatic transmission
  • 300 miles

I brought the dodge Journey in March 12, 2011 and heard a squealing sound when I applied brakes and I thought it was someone else's vehicle and dismissed at the time. I kept hearing it on and off and took the car in to the shop at six weeks. Service manager had the vehicle checked and supposedly everything was okay. He informed me that I needed to drive the car real fast and apply the brakes because this will clear the dust/shavings off the brakes. I was told there's a steel casing around the brakes now so the shavings/dust from the brake pads have no way of escaping and it remains on the pads and that's what's causing the squealing sound. So you're talking about putting up with a brand new vehicle that makes a loud squealing sound whenever I brake. And the other day when I had to put on the brakes suddenly the whole vehicle swerved which is a great safety issue. After some research, they have been having problems with the braking system and it is not adequate for this vehicle. We should not have to be dealing with this, it's a huge safety issue and they should have a recall.
