The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, an abnormal clunking and knocking sound was heard. The traction control, ABS, and AWD warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to accelerate as needed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who replaced the brakes and sensors. The vehicle was taken to another independent mechanic, who referred the contact to the local dealer for assistance with the ABS module. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the ABS module was corroded and there was no recall coverage. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 109,004.

I had the Cruise Control recall done on my vehicle in 2018, but it never really fixed the issue. I wasn't aware there was only a 2 year warranty on the work done, and that would have put it in 202 when everything was pretty much closed down. I contacted Dodge and they said there was nothing they could do about it. I know another recall was R61 / NHTSA 15V-675 ABS Ground Wiring issue which got "fixed." Now, I am having an ABS, Skid Control, Brake light issue. I took my car to the shop and they are charging me $180 just to find out the issue. I received a call from the mechanic and he proceeded to tell me the parts needed are on backorder and may be available in March 2022, which will cost close to $2k to repair. I was also advised by the mechanic this is a common issue across Dodge, Crystler Jeep. If that is the case, which it seems to be since I have been looking online and there have been a lot of complaints, why is this not a recall" Why, if dodge messed up when producing vehicles between certain years, do the consumers have to pay to get this fixed" I don't think it is right and I think if Dodge isn't going to take responsibility and issue a recall on this then there needs to be a Class Action Suit against Dodge. I intend to start doing some legal research to find out what the process is to do this. I can't believe a dealership can charge someone $180 to run a diagnostics on the vehicle when they know what the issue is, since it is common, plus being able to charge almost $2k to repair. The issue is with the ABS pump and module, and this has to be done at the dealership since it is electrical and needs to be hooked up to the computer to calibrate or what ever.

The car loses power unexpectedly while driving at various different speeds or sometimes just won't start after driving but if U wait twenty minutes it might just decide to restart, the ac sometimes will only blow out very hot heat, the cruise control won't turn off and has accelerated from being set at 55 to 75 on its own without being able to turn off, it has went into limp mode at several different speeds and in 2018 wouldn't turn off from in the run position in a result of a completely drained battery and was told engine needed to be replaced which I had replaced, the catalytic converter completely disconnected from the front which I also had replaced, wheel bearings bad costing numerous tire changes since purchasing it in 2013 until someone finally told me in 2020 what was wrong only at the cost of several tires and a wheel alignment, the stability warning light comes on and turns off randomly but if I try to push the button it won't turn it back on or off and the throttle control light comes on and car goes into limp mode drives like this for a day then can go days or months with all warning lights turning off and car runs just fine until it decides to do anyone one of these problems! I have told the dealership that the vehicle has a malfunctioning computer since purchasing it in 2013! the vehicle is unsafe lemon! it has caused me anxiety, and repeated traumatic events of almost getting into an accident or being left stranded for hours! I go into a store and I panic never knowing if the vehicle will start or decide to act possessed!" I recently went to a Dodge dealership to get the safety recalls done on the vehicle and Dodge has informed me they will not do the recalls because I have replaced the engine! the safety recalls must be done and if they can't do it then they need to provide me w a new vehicle free of charge or give me the money back I paid!

As I was driving my car on the city street I lost acceleration power, the traction light and the red lightning bolt came on. My car speed decreased and will not accelerate to over 12 miles an hour. I was on a city street with a speed limit of 40 miles an hour when the power decreases and another vehicle almost ran into my truck as I was trying to make it through the intersection. My car has coded the saying that my throttle needed to be replaced. The throttle was replaced and the car traction light and the lightning bolt still appeared on the dash. The car will not increase to over 12 miles an hour. My car is at the shop and the mechanic has diagnosed that the electrical issues should be on recall because there has been at least 6 Dodge's that he has repaired with the same issue.

I have had my cruise control sensor replaced multiple times within the last two years due to it not activating. After the last repair within 3 months it again stopped acting ating. This was about 8 months ago. 3 weeks ago I went to release my parking brake and heard a loud thud sound. The foot pedal would no longer catch and simply made a clicking sound. I had already scheduled an appointment for December 16, 2019 to repair my catalytic converter due to a recall that had been issued and let the service department know I had concerns with what possibly could be my emergency brake cable. They told me I could pay to gave it diagnosed but I let them know I would have to reschedule. Within this last week my truck has been flashing the traction warning light as well as the electronic throttle control sensor light which seems to come on sporadically. I am concerned that the emergency brake line could have been caught through a recall for approximately 276,000 model-year 2012-15 Dodge Journey SUVS manufactured between April 21, 2012, and April 14, 2015. This seal of the wiring harness may have prevent water from getting into the system on my truck. After doing some research the problem may be my speed sensor, which is a major component of the ABS system. The constant replacing of the cruise control may have been a sign that this system was being affected.

I bought my vehicle in 2017. Before a year of owning it I got into a wreck because my cruise control wouldnt turn off and instead started accelerating more. Then I started having issues with my catalytic converter took it to the dealership and they said there was no way. Shortly after the rest of my systems started to go along with it now it's been about 6 months and I have a vehicle that can no longer move or so anything. Once my catalytic converter went out it started clogging the rest of my system. As of September 2019 my engine is now completely gone because of all the back up not being processed by my catcon

I went into my church for about 2 hours and came back out and started the car to let it cool down for my kids. As it sat idling all of a sudden my check engine light is on, my etc light is flashing, and my ESC off light is on. Shut it off and turned it back on and the engine light was on. Started driving and the etc light started flashing and ESC off light came on. My car slowed down from 60mph on the highway and I couldn't speed back up. I had to pull over and turn car off and back on 3 times to make it back home. To make it home I had to put cruise control on and hope I didn't get behind someone going slower than me because all the lights would come back on.

There's a few recalls on my 2014 Dodge Journey AWD SXT that I've called and they said they don't have the parts and to call back in a few months. I just called now and they gave me the loop around transferring me to the front then back to service where I was placed on hold and then it rang to the front desks number and I had to leave a voicemail. Totally incompetent. This is at the Dodge dealership in Colorado springs.

While on a family trip to san diego from my home in riolinda ca we experienced a strong jerk motion followed by a acceleration while the car was driving in cruise control. My husband tried to remove the cruise control so that he can return to controlling the acceleration himself and it was still accelerating more. He slammed and then continuously slammed on the brakes almost rear ending another vehicle. We have refrained from using cruise control.

I took my vehicle in to the dealership for the recall to update the computer. After having the recall fixed in May 2016, I was turning left from a complete stop at a stop light and the vehicle started missing, it would not accelerate properly, and the engine light started flashing. This was on 6/2/16. The vehicle was running really rough, as though it was going to stall. I came to a complete stop at the next traffic light, the engine light quit flashing & appeared solid. It stopped missing, but there was a definite lack of power and acceleration capability. I got the vehicle back to dealer on 6/3/16. Again unable to recreate incident, so they reran the computer update from the recall, cleared codes & turned check engine light off. On 7/2/16, I was once again sitting completely stopped at a traffic light getting ready to turn left. While idling at stop light check engine light started flashing again & the vehicle started running rough. I was turning into a parking lot for a shopping center. As I attempted to pull into a parking spot the vehicle stalled half in the parking spot. I put the vehicle in park and was able to start it back up and pull the rest of the way in the spot. After being in the store about an hour, we came back out, the vehicle started, but again had a definite lack of power. After driving it less than a mile, it stalled out again while slowing down to come to a stop. We were able to start the vehicle back and get it back home, still with a definitely lack of power, and park it for the holiday weekend. After the holiday, on 7/5/16, I took the vehicle back to the dealership. Once again they can't find anything wrong, have cleared codes, turned off check engine light & advised me to come pick it up. I chatted with Dodge customer service and they claim to be unaware of the issue or any resolution. Transcript attached.

Shortly after refueling my vehicle would idle roughly such as when I am stopped at a traffic light or stop sign and then the engine would begin racing. On at least one occasion when on an on ramp to an interstate I was accelerating to highway speed and the vehicle stopped accelerating and the tachometer red lined (exceeded 7000 RPM's) without any change in input to the gas peddle. These symptoms have continued and I experience occasional and intermittent rough idling even days after refueling. I have had my vehicle in the service dept. On a myriad of occasions and they have been unable to repair the problem.
