While I was driving on a highway, the check engine light and traction control/stability light came on. You could feel the car loosen up, and the engine sound like it was misfiring or skipping. The car did not lose power, and ran fine the next time I drove it. However, it has happened a few more times. I have an appointment with the dealership, so we will see what they say. I did see that the 2012-2015 models underwent a recall for something similar. Maybe it is that same issue on this model. Also, a few months back I was driving when the bolts holding the serpentine belt (don't know the exact name of the system) broke off. The car overheated and completely shut down. They used short 8mm bolts to hold up the system and they failed. Dealership or Chrysler would not cover costs of around $175 to fix, with no assurance that a longer 8mm bolt would hold up long term. The car has less then 50K miles on it.

The contact owns a 2017 Dodge Journey. While driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle's bluetooth failed to operate correctly. Upon reaching his destination, the contact parked, turned off, and exited the vehicle. Upon returning to the vehicle several hours later, it failed to start. The contact stated that the vehicle had to be restarted using battery booster cables. The contact mentioned that the failure recurred three weeks later. The vehicle was taken to sterling heights Dodge (40111 van dyke ave, sterling heights, mi 48313), but the failure could not be duplicated. The contact was informed that the dealer was aware of the failure, which was due to the manufacturer receiving defective batteries from china. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer stated that they could not assist because the dealer could not duplicate the failure. The failure mileage was 4,000.
