CarComplaints.com Notes: This is a classic example of why you should avoid the first model year of a new car. Sure, it's new and shiny but there's going to be some growing pains.

The 2005 Magnum has problems with the gear shifter getting stuck, a shaky and sometimes stalled engine and transmission failure at 75,000 miles.

Let someone else deal with those headaches.

2005 Dodge Magnum SXT - Driver side rear stopped working then passenger side stopped workin a couple of months later. Both in the full up position. Still not fixed & looking for an answer.

Update from Jun 12, 2013: Both rear windows work now after hitting on the inside of doors once with my hand. Just took one hit each. Try it!

this was annoying as the dealership complained that they could not replicate. when i went down to the dealership at lunch to show them, it happened again. Wasn't sure if they just didn't want to mess with it or if my car just didn't like working because it didn't like me.

Drivers rear window does not work before and after replacing the switch.

Smack the lower forward door trim (bottom corner of the pocket) with the palm of your hand hard enough to shake the motor (not hard enough to brake the pocket) Im my car this problem is a grounding issue with the motor. This fix has worked 3 times with mine and works for about 2 weeks at a time.

Rear driver side window has a mind of it own. Every time I took the car to the dealer, the stupid window would work. I drive off the lot, it doesn't work! Have over 100K miles now and the window still doesn't work. Embarrassing when I ride with fellow engineers.

Our back window never worked since we have had the car, or until one day we decided to try and roll the window down. My father had the same problem with his 300 M, he griped a couple of times to the dealer about it and a bad vibration in the drive line around 80mph, they did nothing to fix the problem. So he nailed them with the lemon law, you might want to check it out for your state, he was in Fla. Consequently, they gave him a new car.

As most have said it couldn't be duplicated when taken in for repair, because it is so intermittent. It happened on our car from day 1, so I doubt it is corrosion related. It is definitely a problem Chrysler should repair, but I'm sure they never will.

EXACT same problem as the other owners. You would think that Dodge would see something as obvious as EVERYONE complaining about the same window, and do something about it. I am pretty sure they will do nothing for me now that my vehicle is at such high mileage, but they weren't doing anything for me from the beginning. Virginia Beach Dodge is by far the WORSE dealership I have ever dealt with. Courtney is my service adviser, and is constantly finding excuses to not even attempt to fix problems on my car. The window has been an issue almost ever since I 1st purchased the car (along with other issues, but those are for another complaints section).

If anyone has any suggestions on how we can hold Dodge (Daimler Chrysler) accountable and force them to resolve these issues, I am open.

I have a 2005 Dodge Magnum, I am having the same problem as the other individuals on this site. My drivers side rear window has a mind of its own. The window sometimes will go down and other times will not. I took the vehicle to Redlands Dodge in Redlands, Ca, only to have them take my car from a thursday morning until a tuesday afternoon, of course no rental and without even properly taking care of the problem. They told me that the window just needed more lubrication and that there was nothing wrong with the window. I have since had both rear windows not work properly on several occasions. If anybody has any advise, please let me know.

I just bought the car from a dealer in Florida. After purchase, on way home, noticed the window would not go down. Went back for service under warranty, but window started working, dealer could not duplicate the problem. Has happened several times again, but by pressing down button several times window will work for a time. Suspect a corroded switch or connector.

Left Rear window fails to operate. Problem is intermittent. Have brought in 4 times for repair. Service manager, Scott unable to duplicate inoperable window. Brought car in again on 11/3/06 when window would not open, Service manager Scott and Service Writer Courtney, saw problem, window would not go down, failed to operate, Scott agreed to repair under warranty, but was booked that day and would have to make an appointment. Brought car in for appointment on 12/20/06, service manager, Scott, unable to duplicate inoperable window, refuses to repair. Called Dodge customer care, (what a joke) spoke to Amy. Nothing she can do, nothing Dodge can do. Our only option is find another Dodge dealer.

Hall Dodge of Virginia Beach refuses to make repairs under warranty, still trying to avoid warranty repairs by covering up problems, telling consumers that they haven't seen this problem before and that they supposedly "cannot duplicate" obvious issues to assist DaimlerChrysler (Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep) in reducing warranty costs. Vehicle has been brought in for service 4 times for the same warranty repair, but they refuse to fix the problem. It sounds all too familiar for those that have experienced these issue.
