The contact owns a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact heard an abnormal vibrating noise coming from the front of the vehicle while driving at various speeds. The contact discovered that the transfer case was cracked and the bolts on the transfer case were tightening incorrectly. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the transfer case needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 106,000.
