Just went outside to get in my truck and it wouldn't start. I immediately knew it wasn't the battery because the battery turned on. I am almost positive it's the TIPM Module. It's about 15 degrees out so the cold could of caused this malfunction? Either way I've tried to start it up about 6 different times in the past couple hours and had zero success. This is pretty unreal as I only have 48,000 MILES on this truck!! I use the truck to drive to and from work. There is no off roading, no construction work, just back and forth to a job that's about 5 miles away from my house..

$750 for them to replace the fuel pump, hosing, and bypass the electrical

took it home a few days later, wouldn't start the next morning. Wouldn't Jump the next morning either. Had to get a tow truck to haul it to the dealer.

Dealer said it was the battery and the alternator that had died at the SAME TIME (both are new <2yrs old?). I went and got the battery, had it tested and fully charged, got a new alternator from autozone, took it to them. they replaced both for a DISCOUNTED price of $260 for 2.5 hours to put a alternator and battery in that I GAVE THEM.

Tada- STILL having a problem.

2 weeks later we don't have a solution- they are looking at electrical issues and I just called THEM for them to tell me they need to keep investigating, it will be $200 more to investigate?!??? That's some bull right there when I am paying for their mechanic's training, I have a bright idea, train them ahead of time?

Anyway 2 weeks in now and no idea where this is going, that brings the total to $750+$260+$200 and they still aren't sure what the problem is... I'll tell everyone that will listen how bad this RAM has been.

Went out to start my truck this morning and couldn't even get the truck to unlock with key fob. Had to use actual key to unlock truck. No juice at all from battery. Tried to jump vehicle with no luck. Replaced the battery on 8 Feb 2017 after the same thing happened. Truck will be towed to the Dodge dealership today.

Multiple attempts to start, occuring most often in the morning when the vehicle is cold. The problem has been getting worse over time. The vehicle won't start and appears to be out of gas, but will eventually start most days. I was on the interstate the other day and the vehicle stalled while driving and had to coast to a stop. Dodge needs to take ownership of this faulty TIPM they put into many vehicles, not just the Durango and Grand Cherokee!! this is complete BS

The truck would not start, so we replaced the starter to begin with. This only fixed the problem for one day and then it did not start again. I had it hauled to the mechanic on a wrecker. The moment it came off the wrecker it started and set at the mechanics for 2 days and started with no problem. I picked it up and it worked for one day, the next morning again it would not start. He said if it did this again to tap on the gas tank and it would sometimes start the fuel pump to working. I did this and it started so I returned it back to the mechanic.

He replaced the fuel pump. He noticed that the fuel pump was still running when he turned off the truck so began searching for the problem with turned out to be the integrated power module. He began trying to find the part by calling Bruner dodge in Stephenville, tx. They had the part on back order and it would be a week before he could get the part. They began calling other dealers and one in the metroplex wouldn't sell it to them because they had to keep the part for their own customers. Which this means there is a serious problem with these modules.

They found another dealer in the metroplex that agreed to sell the part to Bruners. My mechanic felt bad about this very expensive problem and wouldn't even charge me any labor to replace the module. He was doing research while searching for the part and realized that Dodge has already recalled 3 other vehicles with this same problem. He told me to hold on to that receipt because there has been so many complaints with this same problem that hopefully Dodge will do a recall on this very expensive problem.

MY CAR DOES NOT START AND THE MECHANIC SAID IS THE TIMP THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, BUT THERE ARE NO RECALLS FOR IT, SO I CAN'T TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE RECALL IS ONLY FOR THE DURANGO, OTHER MODELS EXCEPT FOR THE DODGE 2011. I LOOK AT THE INTERNET AND THERE ARE SEVERAL COMPLAINS, BUT THERE IS NO ONE RESPONSE FOR THE DAMAGE. NOW I HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE CORRECTED BY THE MANUFACTURER.

I took my 2011 Ram 1500 to a Dodge dealership with a no start complaint. Vehicle would crank and never start. They claimed it was a bad fuel pump. Charged me $631.77 to replace fuel pump and kept the truck for a week.

I had same problem the next morning after driving home and the truck sat overnight, of not starting and starter remained cranking the engine after releasing the key. I looked under truck and gas tank had not been touched and was never removed from vehicle. Returned the next day and voiced my complaint. Shop foreman flat out lied to my face and said he saw my tank out and laying on the shop floor. Impossible to do with out touching the tank. There were no hand prints or smudges anywhere on the tank.

They kept truck another week and this time claimed the new pump (that they never installed was defective) When I got the truck back the second time I looked under it right on the service drive at the dealer and tank was all marked and smeared up from being handled. I kept the truck at home for a week and started it everyday, morning and night for three days with no problem. Decided to drive it on the fourth day which was a Friday and would not start with same exact symptoms.

Returned with truck to dealer on following Monday. This time they kept the truck for two full weeks before I ever heard from them and they said my Wireless Ignition Module was not communicating with the chip in the ignition key, so they replaced that and reprogrammed the key that they had to the new WIM. They absorbed the charges for the WIM totally. I paid nothing for that except for the loss of use again. Picked the truck up on Nov.3, 2016. Had it four days and again on Nov. 8th it would not start again exactly like before. I am a self-employed swimming pool and spa maintenance and repair company. That work truck is full of repair parts that I need on a daily basis. I kept the truck at home for a week as my parts warehouse and worked out of my Chevy as I had accumulated a lot of repairs that needed to be made during the month that the truck was sitting in the dealership shop.

November 21, I took the truck to an independent garage and relayed all of this to them. They kept the truck for a week and got it to fail and said I needed to go back to Dodge and raise Cain with them and make them fix it right. They were honest and said they did not want to start throwing parts at it and Dodge needed to make it right. The independent garage did not charge me anything. On November 29th I went back to the dealer with a print out of the TIPM given to me by the independent shop and the # of the code they had found in the onboard diagnostics and did not clear it out so Dodge would see it.

It is now Wed. Dec.7th and Dodge calls me late in the day to tell me they are doing a fuel pump relay bypass repair which is basically installing two jumper wires and told me that was a standard factory authorized repair. The work was already being performed and my truck should be ready for pick up tomorrow. I had no opportunity to discuss or give my authorization to make that repair as it was already near completion. Thursday morning at 9:45, I was called and told my truck was ready to be picked up.

I was having problems starting my truck, so I jumped it with a booster pack and it started right up. I put a new battery in and worked for a couple of days and then began having problems starting again. I took it to a Dodge dealer and they found a flash for wcm that states fixes intermittent start issue and reprogrammed WCM. It worked for a couple of days and then again began having issues starting again. I read online that if I shift into neutral and then try starting it will work. This seems to work but it is annoying and I am worried it will leave me stranded, or worse, cause an accident.

I bought the truck used. Since it was used no warranty. I had problems with it wanting to start so I took it to my Mechanic not the dealer. (Cant trust the local dealer- but that's another rant)

First of all he diagnosed it as a bad fuel pump, Replaced that but the truck still wouldn't start. Then he determined it was the relay, Oh boy a new ECM. Come to find out there is a common problem with this.

Why in the Wide Wide World of Sports would Chrysler or any other Manufacturer incorporate that into the vehicle computer. What a stupid idea.

Truck didn't start or start when it feels like it. Take to the mechanic supposedly was fuel Pump cost $450 and still isn't fix. Went to various websites and looks like is a common problem but doesn't have any type of recall and most people are expending over $1000 at dealer to try and error to get fix. Just hope its the fuse box and we find the relay before the pump burns. Doesn't know yet how much will it cost. Hate electric problems.

TIPM was recalled by Chrysler for vehicles up to 2014. However they conventionally left out there Ram line of vehicles even though they use the same part. According to my service contract can you guess what part in not covered for repair. They cover the wires going to the TIPM, and all the electrical parts connected to it. But not the part itself. Huge out of pocket expense.

Update from Sep 4, 2016: Got my truck back from my mechanic. $655.00 was the damage to have my TIPM repaired. My mechanic has done this work on countless Jeeps so he New what was going on. Even though the truck wouldn't start he found no codes saying that the truck had any issues. He called the largest dealership in Rhode Island for Jeeps and Rams. They ran my vin number and told him the truck was to old and past its warranty. Problem number 1, the truck has 48000 miles on it. And I spent $1600 when I purchased the vehicle for the extended warranty. It is covered to 70000 miles or til 2/2018. The dealer then informed my mechanic that the part isn't covered anyway so they would replace it for $1200 . My mechanic gave me the option, I choose to have it professionally repaired. He told me when I went to pick it up that the report he got back was they replaced a relay (fuel relay switch) and fixed numerous poor solder joints. What upsets me most is Chrysler knows they have this problem and doesn't give a rats ass. Absolutely no effort to address their poor workmanship, and the consumer is stuck holding the bag. Even the Fed's won't help force them to do the right thing. I guess people have to die or be injured before someone steps up.

I have had it to the dealer to fix twice, they say they cannot find the problem. I picked it up after 2 1/2 weeks of being at the dealer and went to start it and it will not start. The ETC light is on. If the dealer cannot find it, what do I do?
