1995 Dodge Ram 2500 4X4 with numerous problems. Customer states his vehicle was towed to the dealer for a recall repair and the front coil spring seats to be repaired because they were unsafe. He stated the truck needed and had other repairs too. The consumer stated the dealer did not comply with the recall. The dealer welded reinforcement brackets to the towers and did not check for cracks. The consumer also stated as he left the dealer, he hit a bump and the hood popped open. Consequently, the consumer crashed into the jersey barriers.
1995 Dodge Ram 2500 with recalls concerns customer states that the recalls have not been fix by the dealer and it almost got him killed* the consumer stated there was a recall on the secondary hood latch and the dealer told him they could not perform the recall, because the primary latch was defective. Upon leaving the dealership, the consumer hit a bump and the hood flew up over the windshield, which caused the consumer to loose control of the vehicle, and subsequently hit a jersey barrier. The consumer also stated the dealer didn't perform the coil spring tower recall sufficiently. The consumer stated the dealer didn't use a wrench, they just tack welded the plate on each tower. The recall was suppose to take 5 hours, however the consumer stated they were done in 15 minutes.
Nar 3-11-03 the consumer stated that when his truck was used for snow plowing, the front of the truck twisted, which caused stress to various areas of the truck. In addition the consumer felt that the shock tower defect recall(99V214000) may be part of the problem. It has been suggested by the consumer that the truck be recalled and repaired.
99 V 214 000/suspension, unable to get the dealer metro auto mall; queen village, NY; phone # 718/479-6452 to honor recall repairs properly. Manufacturers representative had to be called in to inform dealer to make corrections on repairs, currently dealer is unable to correct problem due to improper tools. Consumer was recently notified that the body shop that did the repair originally borrowed the correct welding equipment, and was informed that the repairs would be taken care and to come back to the body shop, consumer inspected the welding equipment machine and it was incorrect per the requirements for the safety recall.
Recall 99V214000/ manufacturer's recall 835. Tires started to rub if making a right turn. Shock tower came loose from frame. Shock tower busted all way, except a 1/2 inch it was ripping through tower. If vehicle hits a bump it would loose control. Consumer was responsible for $954. The manufacturer could not sell parts to the consumer, who wanted to fix the vehicle himself.
