The contact owns a 2001 Dodge Ram van B350. The contact stated that the horn and cruise control were nonoperational. He also stated that the air bag light would sporadically illuminate, similar to the failure described in NHTSA campaign id number: 01V153000 (air bags). The dealer was notified who informed the contact that his vehicle was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was contacted who confirmed that the vehicle was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The current and failure mileage was approximately 105,000.
The contact owns a 2001 Dodge Ram. While driving approximately 35 mph on normal road conditions, the contact veered off the road to avoid striking a deer. Instead, the vehicle crashed into a tree. The air bags failed to deploy. The police and ambulance were called to the scene and a police report was filed. There were no injuries. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence and the front end was completely destroyed. The manufacturer was notified and the insurance company has not yet determined the cause of the air bag failure. The VIN was unknown. The failure and current mileages were 94,000.
On August 30, 2005 the caller's husband was involved in an accident while traveling 25 mph. Upon impact, the airbags did not deploy. The caller's vehicle hit a school bus. There was no indication that the air bag would not deploy. Caller's husband was injured. A police report was taken. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. Caller said a week before the wreck she had the vehicle at the dealer for brakes, she said the brakes locked and the tires made a screeching sound. She did not know if the brakes and the accident were connected. The consumer stated there was another accident prior in which the air bags did not deploy.
The brake pedal went to the floor while traveling on the highway. This caused consumer's vehicle to rear end a tractor trailer, lost control of the vehicle, and flipped twice, landing on the shoulder of the highway. Upon impact, both air bags did not deploy. Driver sustained head and back injuries, and was transported by ambulance to a hospital. The vehicle was towed.
While driving 70 mph driver fell asleep at the wheel and hit another vehicle that was parked on the side of the shoulder of the highway. Upon impact, both air bags did not deploy. Driver's side seat belt snapped in half. Driver sustained head injuries and was transported by ambulance to a hospital. Vehicle was totaled.

Steering column problems have been reported 5 times, repaired 4 times in which the clock spring (safety recall 982) was replaced 2 times. The vehicle was hit at 25 mph in the front center the the air bags did not deploy causing minor injuries to the consumer. The dealer has been dealer notified.
Dodge Ram 1500 series.the vehicle was involved in a front collision at 25-35 mph. Upon impact neither air bag deployed causing the passenger to hit head on the dash. Damage to vehicle unknown at this time. Nlm
Edge of the hwy gave way, forcing the vehicle into a brick wall, neither airbag deployed, causing damage to the left ribs from impact with the steering wheel.
Consumer received a recall notice, and made an appointment six days in advance, however when he arrived he was informed that his appointment could not be honored because the dealership had a few projects that went over due.
Consumer received a safety recall notification, to have clockspring replaced, however consumer was informed by dealerhsip that they did not have the part.
Consumer has contacted dealer in reference to recall 01V153000/ manufacturer's recall 982, dealer is unwilling to provide any assistance regarding recall.
